Title: Post links or info on your best AMV's (or MV's in general)
Post by: TrashMan on February 24, 2008, 04:04:57 pm
I'm sure a lot of HLP folk love good music videos (especially AMV's)

So instead of looking around and spending our bandwith looking for good stuff it might be smarter to share the good stuff we found between ourselves.
what say you?

Hrm... It would be a long list..lol...I will be editing it and adding info
Maybe I should devide it into categories:

Let's see...what to start with (these are very loose categories):

ACTION/EPIC

SAGA: SAINTS AND GOLD ALWAYS (by CS&I)
Video: Saint Seiya: Hades
Music: Nightwish - Onbce - Ghost love Score
Decription: Long, epic, action packed. Excellent visuals... the best word to describe it would be "energizing".  I keep playing it over and over again.

Cowboy Bebop - Pulp Fiction Soundtrack
It's like the series and music were made for each other. Excellent AMV that shows off the cast of CB.

We Are Athenas Saints
Video: Saint Seiya (some newer chapters)
Music: Hades theme (methinks)
Also very, very good. Too bad the lirics are on japanese, but ti doesn't detract from the coolnes of the AMV.

The Armed and Dangerous (Various Heroes)
Video: Multiple (cowboy beebop, helllsing, GITS, Trigun, etc, etc...)
Music: Heroes
Action packed, put together excellently.

Skyfire AMV Productions - The Need For Speed
Video: Macros Plus
Music: Top gun Theme
Excellent and somewhat funny. A few top Gun scenes are lip synced and re-created from video from the series in between the Top Gun soundtrack.

Justin Emerson - Eurobebop
Video: Cowboy Beebop
Music: ???? Don't really know, doesn't say

Escaflowne - In Tenebris & Knightrider of Doom
Name sez it all.
Action paced, excellently put together, the rythm and scenes are like made for each other. Visual quality isn't the greatest tough, but it still rocks hard!

Evangelion - Rammstein - Engel
Video: Evangelion
Music: Engel by Rammstein
Bloody, excellently put together, great scene selection and also quite fun.

Escaflowne last frontline
Another action packed title

Otaku_Outpost_One_Day_More
Video: Macross
Music: One Day more (Les Miserables)
You wouldn't think a music can possibly fit with the Macross saga, but the lip sync and scenes and everything fits... the first time you watch it you go "WTF?", the second time you go - _"Friggin great work!"

Lodoss-TwoHolySwords
Video: Record of the Lodoss War
Pretty good video, has action and suspense

Rurouni Kenshin - Kyoto Kombat
Mortal Kombat, Kenshin style

**********************
More Drama/romantic
**********************
Each of these great. Wouldnt' have downloaded them otherwise.
Music and scenes fit in all of them and all are of good quality.

Escaflowne - Ordinary Day
Music: Ordinary Day by Vanes Carlton

Escaflowne - Glory of Love
Music: Peter Carera (Glory of Love)

Escaflowne - I'll Meet You
Music:Meet you There by Simple Plan

Escaflone - I Will Do Anything For Love
Music: I will do anything for love by Meatloaf

Escaflowne - Heaven_Is_A_Place_On_Gaia
Music: Heaven is a place on Earth
A bit effect heavy, but everything is done brilliantly. Blends the move and series so it LOOKS like it's one.

Maboroshi_Macross_dlove
Music: Doesn't say in the vid bit it's a good one. Has some action in the last part, the first is more romance/drama

Escaflowne - SuperVan
Music: Superman

**********************
PURE COMEDY VALUE:
**********************

Cowboy Bebop - Weird Al - Living in the Fridge.
It's Wierd Al...and Cowboy Beebop. What more to say?

Lostboy-RhythmAnimation-TwoMix-Various
Varius anime...less funny than the stuff below, but also quite a catchy thing

the following 3 are pure gold:

Vlad_G_Pohnert-We_Want_You
Video: Varius anime
Music: In the Navy

Vlad_G_Pohnert-Villainous_Destiny
Video: Various anime
Music: It's a sin

HAIR
Video: Various anime
Music: Hair

Mmh, sure why not.

This has been my favourite from the very day I saw it years ago.

Gundam 08th MS Team - Nightwish: Tenth Man Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG_koZ9T_oo)
Music: Nightwish - Tenth Man Down
Video: Gundam 08th MS Team

Other than that, check out the AMV Hell clips if haven't done so allready.
By either searching from YouTube or going to http://amvhell.com/

Hm...honestly not impressed by the AMV list in there.
I didn't see not one of the AMV's I consider utterly brilliant. :sigh:

i never did like amvs. seems like a cheap video editing job if you ask me. music videos in general usually suck too. bands with good videos, usually suck as bands. good bands like to show themselves playing live, which is usually boring unless you throw pigs heads into the audience.

Most ARE crap.. But then again, a few are made so good they are 100 times better than the original video for the song (if it had one), and you keep playing it over and over...it's so friggin good!
As usual, you have to sift trough a lot of garbage to find good stuff...why do you think I started this thread for?

If you mean the AMV Hells, then I agree that none of them are anywhere brilliant... but as far as I know none of them are even made to be such.
More like jokes in which I think they succeed quite nicely most of the time.
