Title: Games Crashes to Desktop...
Post by: OllieG on February 28, 2008, 12:05:35 am
Hey guys, I've been having a blast playing FSport with FS2_Open.  On the first red-alert mission (after protecting the Galatea from vasudans) the game crashes to the desktop with no error message as soon as I get within 3000km of the shivan freighters.  It's happened about 5 times.

I'm using a Mac powerbook to run the game.  I downloaded and installed everything with Turey's installer.  I'm using the mediavps -glow -spec -jpgtga -warp_flash -nobeampierce -mod fsport.  I run them from the command line, launcher doesn't seem to work.

Anyone else had this problem or can suggest a fix?

The default Launcher is only for Windows, if I'm not mistaken. There is a Mac Launcher hanging around here somewhere, but can't remember a link at the moment, though.

-nobeampierce? Does that still work? Not that it would matter in FSPort, anyways.

Otherwise, sounds like an evil red-alert bug. One way is to remove the red-alert tag from the mission and then try it. You get to select your loadout that way, but no can do.

Does that happen immediately after the Eva jumps out?  This is a known bug in FSO that was fixed years ago.  Try a newer build.
