Well as you might have seen at the site, whe are in need of convertes who know there way around with 3dexploration, to help out with converting the ships, so if you wanna take the job contact Thorn or me.
Where also looking for voice actors, and renderers who can make renders for command briefing ani's and (if your good) the interface.
Additionaly where also looking for a 1 or 2 effect artist to help with mostly the homeworld and homeworld cataclysm backgrounds, if your interested contact me then.

I'm a regular user of 3D Exploration (version 1.81) in the course of my work and, as mentioned over at Freespace Watch, could possibly help with converting models. I'll remember to get into contact with Thorn/other members for some extra details.

Well, I can convert them with 3DEX no problem, what I need is for people to convert them to .pof and add all the subsystem/turret/gun data

So you can do pof data, make turrets (ie. set the hirearchy stuff up in TS, and get them set in PCS properly), all that stuff?

Well I can Help you with the interfaces, I just buy HW and I will start playing it this weekend, so let me check the interfaces and I will try to make them compatibles with FS2 Interfaces, maybe some voice actor too but lets speak later about the voice acting

Well the idea i have is not making the interfaces as homeworld ones, but like tbp, with nifty renders with homeworld ships and backgrounds and that kinda stuff.

I need people to resize them and add turrets, then convert it to pof, add all the pof data..

Is also looking into possible HLP hosting for an FS2 campaign. Anything specific one should do or consider (other than whats in the 'hosting page' already)?

Hey, need any more help? I'd like to join....
I can do anything except textures (which is basically modeling, converting, mission editing, .tbls-I've got my own tricks in this, you already know about them- and general things)..;)
BTW, have you figured out how to do the trails yet?

If you have Truespace, homeworld and 3Dexploration, I'm pretty sure you could be of help, model conversions can't go too quickly :)
Texturing or modelling is not really needed, because the models are(usually) suitable for FS2, and textures are applied automatically. Right now we're having really big problems with rotating turrets on some ships, which has slowed down the conversions.
Trails are something we simply can't do, because only chance would be making every single mission in a nebula, and we can't have that. So no trails :(
Thorn is leading the project now, so he'll be the one to decide we really need you :)

How come you can't make every mission a nebulae? I think I have some ideas on how to make it work, but that's just me;):D

I'm not sure, but AFAIK you can't have backround images in a nebula, which is not good.

Well, maybe, just maybe, you could make the nebulae transparant, except make the backround images are farther away (as part of the nebulae.pof and the nebulae.pcx), and solid (in other words, visible)

personally I think the trails are too much work for an effect that would probably end up pising people off...
I'll have a look at what we need done tomorrow when I'm on my other computer and let you know....

As I'd like to see the drive trails I've got to agree with Thorn there. Trails can really get annoying during the middle of a heated battle.
I'm not talking about those little things in the nebula missions here. I mean big blurry trails. Take a look at that monster of a trail on the shivan super laser. Now just imagine every fighter and bomber with at leat one really large trail like that. Then imagine being in heavy large scale fighter combat. Blur, blur, blur.

well I can do many voices, can do a very good replica of teh scout pilots, and did voices for a cuple of campaigns no one knows about.

I'm not sure we'll be doing voice acting for TAP, but it's up to the project leaders really, not me.
Still, thinking about it. The size of an audio speech pack aside for a moment some limited voice acting would probably need to be done in addition to the extracted speech files from homeworld and homeworld: cataclysm. Best to ask Thorn about it.
