I've come across a problem with loading mods in FRED2 open. I get the part where you rename the target with the whole "-mod " line, but the computer won't accept the change. I get a message saying the path specified in he target box doesn't exist. It's not just specifying mods, either. ANY change I make to the target box comes back as an error. Unless I revert back to the original target, it won't let me leave the properties box. :sigh:
I'm wondering if there is something I missed when installed freespace open installer, or maybe a setting I have to change in windows.
Thanks for any help

Ummm... Try putting quotes before and after the path, then typing the -mod flag after.

This worked for me.
Create a short cut for Fred2
Target (at the end of line) -mod modname
Start in directory box --- put a \ at the end - a dropdown should appear allowing you to pick the correct directory.

I've tried putting the -mod thing inside the quotation marks and outside (seperately, of course). I'm also not sure about this dropdown you're talking about, Water. I can't seem to get one.

XT builds use same info as launcher for mods... Dunno if that feature stays in when the XT branch is committed but with those builds all you need to do is to select the mod via launcher and then running FRED instead of running FS.
