I am curious to know is there a way to use FS2 without rendering. I know that you cant play the game without an accelerator, but is there away to allow me to get into the game without that feature? dont go oh why would u wanna do that, just let me know if theres a way, and if so, how to do it. if this is possible it would be accential to atleast completeing my mods.

im curious because i cant play FS2 without a standard videocard. i mean being that the FS2 engine is an enhanced fs1 engine, i thought it still would posisbly work without hardware support and use software support. this is needed so i can work on my mod still atleast to make sure it works.

Ummm... you just want a black screen?

I'd say he's just after forcing the game to use a software mode.
You can't do that, I think. Sorry.

Are you just wanting to look at the mainhall or something?
If so, maybe..
If youre looking to play too, I dont think a registry hack would do it...
Youd probably have to hack the core files themselves, maybe code yourself a software renderer for it....

maybe he just wants wireframes... like oldschool astroids

well after a five minute cut and paste job from the registry settings in FS1 to fs2 on my pc, i coppied the "direct 3d-primary display driver" option in FS1 and placed it in the "Videocard" function and pasted "Direct 3D - Primary Display Driver" in the FS2 registry. and its now an option in the setup menu when u load FS2. so no i dont get a black screen lol. its a minor fix and it allows me to access the game and it runs fine. rendering isnt what i hoped but i already knew that with this cheap arse 4meg SiS onboared card. well the "i dunno" is now know yippie! thanks for the info people.
its good to see fs2 :bump: :bump: :bump:
