Title: TBP @ Freespace WIki
Post by: IPAndrews on March 19, 2008, 05:04:18 am
Hi guys. Wondered if anyone (or maybe a few of you) were interested in updating TBP's part of the Freespace Wiki hosted right here on Hard Light Productions. As it stands our part of the Wiki is fairly incomplete. Just something someone could do next time they are bored.

Maybe i'm bored this week and edit some articles about the ships (there's only something about the EA fighters).  :)

Yes I'm quite proud of our 120+ shiplist. It would be nice to see them all in there... with pictures?  :nervous:

Well...can you upload the pics on the Hard-Light server??? The existing pics have an hard-light-url...
I've never done that but i think it isn't that difficult, isn't it??  :D

Well... I have no idea to be honest. What I know about Wiki editting you can write on the back of a fag packet.

Upload the pictures via FSwiki's own uploader - when you log in the wiki the link should appear on the left side menu bar below the search field.

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Special:Upload (you'll need to log in to use it)

I didn't get the thing with the uppercut...

So that was my first try so...don't expect too much...
Well i wrote something for the Wiki (few sentences for the Project itself and a first try for the Omega).
Someone has to spellcheck the stuff because i'm not a native speaker... :D

Another question: should the article about the project itself contain more story-stuff or more about the development itself??
I'll add some more at the end of the week, especially a picture for the Omega and some other stuff...

most important are the features, since "a Babylon5 TC" just sounds like "just one of these unnecessary mods"

tell about TBP's:
- huge shiplist
- exciting and numerous (!) campaigns
- music and sounds directly from the show
- beautiful graphics
- all new (and also quite large, I already got more than BtrL) multiplayer component
- good playablitiy

that's what really matters

The playability is one thing that could be emphasised. Some people, like me, are intimidated by the Newtonian physics of I've Found Her, so they might actually think "Meh. Another fan-made B5 game". So at least in this aspect it would be good to note that by default TBP features user friednly atmosphere-ish airplane physics that level up the learning curve enough to attract casual players.

This goes for the possible site update as well.
