Using planet models for backgrounds is a bad idea IMO.

You'd better use skyboxes :)
-
... what are skyboxes? (now THIS makes me feel like an idiot, skyboxes sound like something i'm SUPPOSED to use nomatter what...)
-
Skyboxes are huge mapped models that can usually replace background. When you play a subspace mission you can see a superb example of skybox.
-
ah... were can i get them?

Nico's f22 release,
Nukemod...
(who else uses skyboxes)?

Well the simplest and most effective one is "starfield.pof".
In FRED Open, go to Background ---> Skybox Model ---> write "starfield.pof" ;7

The 158th uses them.

Where can I get Nico's f22 release ?
Oh, and if you insist on using planet models, then get them from Cardinal Spear. They might give texture troubles and kinda look like in Freelancer ( as in very small compared to the ships ). But at least you can get the effect of "too close to planet, taking damage" by naming them 'planet' in FRED2 .

Yeah. Nicos' release. Where to get it?

I just want twisted infinities so i can fly around in that moonbase. Just like DS2
