Title: Ghostbusting POF's
Post by: Droid803 on March 22, 2008, 07:21:25 pm
Noob questions incoming...but anyhow, I don't feel like slogging through 60 pages of search results, so I guess I'll just ask:

- Is there a way to fix the collision on models without having the source file and doing a re-convert? (like, doing something in PCS2?)
- Also...PCS2 seems to dispose of the collision data. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I can't tell what. i just used it to replace a few textures, and then BAM! - It turns ghost. I'm pretty sure its not supposed to do that, and I don't seem to be able to find anyone else with a similar problem.

I would use Modelview32 (which I know doesn't mess that stuff up)...but it can't even open half the files since it complains about too many poly's or too many turrets etc etc.

It sounds like you might be experiencing this bug (http://ferrium.org/mantis/view.php?id=67). Can you open it in PCS2, go to data>Purge BSP Cache and then re-save it? If that doesn't work, repeat the process and try again.

If that still doesn't work, chances are there's something quite wrong with the model I'm afraid. What model is it and was it converted using PCS2?

That did the trick. At least now I can edit stuff without it going ghost on me.

Thanks  ;)
