I'm terribly sorry if this is the wrong forum to post in, but on the "Paving the Way" mission on FS1 I can't see any of the asteroids that you are supposed to destroy. This makes passing the mission rather difficult. White targeting brackets appear around what I assume would be the asteroids, but neither I, nor the Galetea can shoot them, the lasers and missles go right through.
I am using the SCP launcher to run the game on a Vista system. I know, Vista blows and all, but it's all I have and my retail disk got lost quite some time back. Please help.

Enable the -jpgtga flag in the launcher.
-
Are you using the port or vanilla FS1?
Modern builds should have that flag on by default
-
I'm using the port.
-
Download a recent build of the SCP and report back if it doesn't fix it
-
A quick search on the forums would have shown you the answer. But what the hell. Asteroids are invisible if the jpg/tga textures aren't enabled. Any 3.6.10 build enables them by default and doesn't even show the option in the Features list. But with the 3.6.9 build (which you apparently use), you have to enable them manually. So, open the Features tab on your Launcher and tick Enable jpg/tga textures. Done.

Yeah I searched Paving the Way, but the only problem it brought up was the one where the Galetea didn't jump at the end. I got this build from the Freespace Wiki, which may need to be updated since it directs to an old build, or thread that hosted an old build. THanks anyway, the jpeg box fixed it.

You weren't the first mate, and I'm sure you won't be the last, I was in exactly the same postion a few days ago.

theres a 3.6.10 :eek2:
and I AM USING 3.6.9?! :shaking:

There are many 3.6.10's, but not a final, official one. If you want some new features, download a 3.6.10 build. But if you want to play it safe, just use 3.6.9 for now.
