Freespace: The Great War Trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6xzWtIA0HQ
Freespace 2 Trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r08pQHjF1X0
The Freespace 2 Trailer was what got me hooked onto to finding the game. I watched it at least 10 times after I installed the Descent 3 demo. The FS Alpha trailer was also great and the actual trailer for the original FS was pretty decent too. Take your pick.

The FS1 could have with more action rather than points, and I've never heard of Alpha, so FS2 gets my vote. The view of the Collosus must have made heads turn.
-
I voted FS2, though honestly a big part of me prefers the FS1 trailer simply because it has better music . . . but the whole . . .climax of it, showing that the player is small compared to everything else isn't that great a climax.
The FS2 trailer thus is top dog, though I'm not a huge fan of the music. Nor of the pacing. (I like the musical buildup in FS1, would be cool to have that with the FS2 trailer but have some beam ganking as the climax (colossus?)). But yeah . . . cool stuff.

FS2. The creepy scene with all the dead things and the talking...builds good atmosphere.

I agree, the points really ruined the mood with the trailer. It was better when it was displayed during the action and not just listed out on the last half of the trailer.
-
Uhuh. that made it boring in the second half.
I support the "show feature as you list it" way of doing things.

FreeSpace Alpha is a pre-release FreeSpace1 given to public testers. In other words, a demo which no-one else has. Check the FS wiki for it.
FreeSpace Alpha one looks good. FreeSpace1 trailer's Orion jumping scene was pretty good and that's about it. Though FreeSpace2 one get's the vote, because it looks "powerfull".

FS Alpha.

Voted FS2 trailer, but I love all three :) :)

FS Alpha is the best FreeSpace evar.

BTW in FS Alpha trailer a thing from 0:09 looks like Ship Selection concept.
-
Yeah, I've seen those barrels in the Fs1 mainhall too... O.o

Yeah too bad they removed that. I don't have any idea why. It would have been pure win.
Additionally, in FS1, the loadout animations were all animated. In FS2, they are static. I wonder why.

:nervous:
 Rick Roll? Is that you or is it my computer?
EDIT: Damn. Just realised the date :)

You ****ing bastard.

Freespace 2, most intense, i was drooling as i watched it a few mins ago.
-
I voted correctly.
The FreeSpace 2 Trailer was the first trailer I saw when I was crawling through my Descent 3 CD 2. I watched it well over 30 times, and everytime I watched it, I kept thinking, "They can't do this."
That was when I was eleven, I think. I now have the FS2 Trailer in my MP4, along with Rake's Flail SCP, ready for me to watch whenever and wherever I want to.
...trailer music has always drawn me like a magnet. ;)
-
Well to be honest, I i dont have a favorite. I only picked FS2 because that was the game that got me hooked.
Also, FS2 trailer was the 1st one i saw, but only after buying an FS1+ST double pack off the net.
;)
And i agree with AE about trailer Music, in fact there are two that i want to find
1) The piece used in the opening movie for Colony Wars Vengence - it is aparently called "Elite Force"
2) The second piece found in the old trailer for B5:A call to arms. The trailer is shown before the film on the Video tape of B5:ACTA. I have absolutley no idea what this piece is called, but ive heard it in many trailers. I also heard it in the Video/dvd trailer for Star Trek DS9 Season 6 or 7.
-
By the way, for those of you who plan to make trailers of your own for your own mods/campaigns, take a look at these trailers. How long are they? How frequent are the cuts? That's the sort of thing people should be going for. I saw some FSOpen trailer on youtube, and I appreciate the work but it was like 9 minutes and a lot of the trailer was just the guy flying around for 20 seconds at a time. Waaaay too long. The BTRL trailers are fairly well done for that . .. though I wish they did more in-the-cockpit stuff.
-
Wait till ST:R's trailer comes out.
It should have been out back in November, but I'm still waiting for some guy to finish our logo. :blah:

You're kidding.

Sadly, I am not (which is why I changed the smiley to :blah: -- apparently not quickly enough). We're actually working on multiple promotions, and one of the others may actually be done first.

Do any of them involve Rick Astley?
-
If they did, I would have released them on or around April Fools Day.
-
So we won't see it until next year? :p

Gah! Tangents again! :shaking:
