I recently was reading a thread, and I saw something I posted, but I didn't remember posting it. I was about to post a post saying so, until I realized that the forum mixes around all of the user names. Did you guys really have to play such a joke?
Oh and BTW, its blowfish talking if you can't tell.
-
Same here! I posted some pics...

Come on, it's fun :) Try vising one of the creation vs evolution threads, they are even more epic now that every user name is picked at random ;) And anyway, if it bothers you that much, you can still identify the true poster by hovering the mouse over the username.
-
It even changes signatures etc!
THE WORLD IS DESCENDING INTO CHAOS!!
-
Oh... Please have some mercy and remove this 1st april "feature" :P
-
i dunno, this is kinda funny

i dunno, this is kinda funny
Maybe, once you know its happening.
The first time I saw it, I was freaking out until I realized what it was.
-
*Reads Colecambells personal info in last pic*
Awwww... nip it! :P
-
I missed that one. :(
-
Hey it's normal again.
-
Hey it's normal again.
No its not. I don't know if its just normal in site support or something, but I can still see it in other threads.
-
Uhh, testing testing... one, two, uh... two... three...
Edit: Hot piss! Yeah, Site Support seems to be "normal". (How normal is HLP, anyways?)
-
Cool.
-
*sigh* The only place where I feel I can be myself...
-
Let's all migrate here for the day. :D

Any old members (specifically admins) remember a guy called Mr Vasudan? Apperantly, he was banned. I got his identity once when I posted; he only had one post, so I'm curious: Was he a pornbot or something? Or just some huge asshat?
...Man, that's what this forum needs. A list of all banned members and their crimes. That'd be awesome.
-
This is a LOT more fun than RICKROLLEVERYWHERE!

 I had forgotten about him. He somehow acquired administrator privileges. I've attached the printable version of the thread.
(BTW, this was way before I became an admin or even got significantly involved on HLP, so don't blame me. :p)

Hey Goob, I were you. And you posted something way off-topic :p
Does post count have anything to do with how often a name is chosen? I seem to have disappeared from HLP...
-
Your chance at being chosen increases in direct proportion to the number of times you posted in the past 15 days.
-
Ok, it's past april fools, can we turn this (and that rick rolling thing) off now?
-
/me identifies himself.
Oh...no wonder the sidebar was messed up. I posted as SNAIL, edited as DARK HUNTER, someone who has never posted, and COLONEL DEKKER. :eek2:
I thought it was a forum bug and PMed terran_emperor and TrashMan.
It's good to fall for a joke like this every year.
One more thing...the Announcements page is still half-cocked. :wtf:
...actually, so are quite a number of the other sub-forums.
I edited as Snail and Colonel Dekker again! :drevil:

Seems to be fixed now. They've started thinking about next year :nervous:
-
I missed the fun this year. It actually sounds creative...
-
I still think the April Fools Day Fiasco was funnier.
-
I thought the wailing and gnashing of teeth that followed was even funnier, but maybe that's just me....
-
I like how the end of March is basically when Goober's supply of crayons runs out and he lashes out by finding a way to cripple the forums.
-
I still think the April Fools Day Fiasco was funnier.
So did I. I didn't find Rick Rolling very funny, though. It just makes me feel like :beamz:.

You weren't here for that though. AFAIK, anon was referring to 2005. The one I missed by like two months.
-
I thought it was earlier than that.
But, basically, they decided to pretend I'd hacked the forums and gone on a deleting spree.
Only, because Goober's a spastic, he didn't just hide the forums. He actually deleted them and pretty much killed the forums for like 2 months.
And the whole time I was on IRC fanning the gossip flames, pretending to be Styxx and saying 'I' had given 'an0n' full access for some reason. And kode was pretending to be me.
It was a cluster**** of hilarity.

That "Bork Bork Bork!" joke was the April Fool's joke the following year, wasn't it? If so, then it was in 2005. AFAIK it went:
2005) "The Anon incident"
2006) Bork Bork Bork!
2007) ---- (Unofficially John Doe)
2008) Rickroll, Usernames.
...Man, I've been here longer than I think. It's strange how stupid I was back then, and how amazingly far I've come since then. Yet I'm still stupid. Although, most of us are in a sense. :p

Ah, my apologies.
Regardless, I thought that this year's April Fool's joke of mixing up all the posters was fun. I only entered the fray in the last few hours, but it was still fun nonetheless. Now the moderators will have to think of something for next year...and it had better not be that huge-corporation-buys-us joke that I saw on CTG Music (http://www.ctgmusic.com) and replacementdocs (http://www.replacementdocs.com).

Well, it's good to have a bit of stupidity up there. It keeps us from getting nerdy.
-
I wasn't around in '05 and '06. What were "The Anon Incident" and "Bork Bork Bork!"?
-
I've heard somewhere that an0n got admin rights... But I wasn't around here either.
-
You even have a post from An0n explaining, yet still you ask. :p
-
Didn't see that post... :nervous:
-
Just out of curiosity, what were the pre-anon incident April Fool's jokes, if there even were any?
-
2004 was Olde English (one of my personal favorites)
Before that there was one where he and she were switched, and another one where all the letter e's were removed. I forget when those were done, though, as I wasn't around as regularly back then.
-
I remember the he and she one. "I" also became "you," and "you" became "we." :D
-
Now that sounds like a lot of fun. Wish I'd seen it.
-
Yea, those seem more fun than RICKROLLEVERYWHERZOMFG.
The username switching was hilarious though - it created the "We are mobius" thing :D

Well you have to admit that RickRoll Everything was kind of funny. I memorized the lyrics.
-
Partially due to the fact that you had posted it in a rainbowtastic thread. That was well done.
-
Rick Roll was funny, name-switching was even funnier.
-
Rick Roll wasn't that funny but it did have that certain April Fool's feeling in it. And the name switching... Ah yes, that was hilarious. Nothing cheers up the day more than seeing karajorma asking for tech support, with an0n giving him clear and professional-sounding instructions.

As a matter of fact, smartass, yes (http://koti.mbnet.fi/reiler/lolkara.jpg). Except that apparently it was "WMCoolmon", who gave the answer. Nonetheless...

Smartass?
-
Sorry. I'm a bit drowsy. That thing just suddenly popped into my mind and I had to, just had to say it. Guess I've heard it somewhere.
-
I know how you feel.

Damn, and I poked my head in here last week to see what you guys had cooked up. How'd I manage to miss all this?
-
By coming 10 days late.
