Hey guys! It's been ages since I've been around here. How're you all doing?
Life's great over this neck of the woods - a few months ago I passed my first anniversary with my wife, and this year I started teaching maths and computing courses at my old high school. At the moment I'm on a 12 month contract but it looks like I could be here for quite some time (which is a good thing - it's a great school)!
Anyway, the big news of the moment is that Michelle is pregnant - and due to give birth to our first child in July! It's a girl. Any name suggestions? They have to sound good with "Woo". And no, I'm not naming her after a FreeSpace ship (as nerdy and cool as it would be to have "Galatea Woo" as my daughter).

This is probably a really really really bad April Fools joke but I'll bite.
Good to see you Mr Steak! Glad to hear things are going well for you.
-
Hey Setekh, glad to hear that things are great with you and your wife. I'm celebrating 1 year with my soon to be wife and can't wait to have kids.
What about Madison Woo? :)
-
Welcome back! And congratulations :)
-
What about "Woomeister"? ;)
-
(as nerdy and cool as it would be to have "Galatea Woo" as my daughter)
Ah, but your excuse could be that you named her after the nymph or the statue. :D
Make the name an exclamation. Something like Yeah Woo! :p
One of my friends always suggests "Jill Amazing" whenever the subject of baby names comes up. :D
-
Name it Hippo! Hippo-woo is awesome!
But seriously, congrats!
-
Mazal Tov!
Anyway, names. Too bad it's not a boy, since William Woo would have been an awesome little Futurama reference (http://www.gotfuturama.com/Multimedia/EpisodeSounds/2ACV14/01.mp3). :p
-
congratulations man!

Hmm...there's a hole in the script. When I view the post, I see that it was really nvsblmnc who posted.

named her after the nymph
Do you really want to name your daughter after one of those?
-
Setekh needs to check more often.
-
Remember: when naming your daughter, think of all the possible ways she could get teased in school for it.

Very true.

Good for you, man! I'm really glad things are going so well for you. Sesquipedalian and you oughta change diapers together. :D
-
W00t, congrats Steak! :D How about naming her Keats? :D :p
-
So how many HLP babies we got now?
-
Hmm...how about Raa?
Raa Woo :D :p

Kanga. :D
-
I was trying to think of something along those lines...
-
Either that or "Dolf" (think taking attendance in class). :D
-
I'd say go with Meister and insist on writing their name in the Chinese fashion. :p

"Tage" would be better. :D
-
"Meister."
-
Congrats Steak.
-
Annika.
-
Good to hear from you Setekh and congrats to both of ya!
Great that life is going well over there.
-
Any name suggestions?
- Setekh
Jennifer, or Elizabeth, they both sound prestigous and can be shortened too........
Jenny, Jen, or Lizzy Liz (should you need to)
-
Habeeb.
Or you could do what I did with my baby hamster and just call it Baby Hamster. Only, y'know, Baby Human.
-
Arya.

Ignore it; I didn't realize the nicks were being spoofed for April 1.

Howabout Woo as a first name!
Woo Woo sounds good to me! :drevil:
j/k
Congrats Steaky boy!
-
Can John be a girl's name? Because then you could legitimately claim to be the father of "John Woo", and be feared and respected by everyone.
Seriously though, congratulations man.
-
Habeeb.

Or Baby Steak.
-
Call it Burger.
OMG!
Kebaby!
-
10$ says steak doesn't even come back to read our suggestions :(
-
Congrats - you are now the proud ower of $10!
Funnily enough, John is actually one of my favourite names - of all time, even without the action-film-director connection. But it's not to be, as the wife (not to mention greater parts of my extended family) hate the name (they think it's too old fashioned). Sigh.
And thanks for the well wishes, guys. I'll be around a little (in between lessons I have to teach at school - heh).
-
LOL, talk about irony...
-
Congrats - you are now the proud ower of $10!
What's an "ower"?
Oh, right. I get it. :p
