Noticed the other day that when I change the players IFF the support ship IFF remains friendly. Haven't really tried anything to get around this yet but I have been thinking about it. Anyone have an easy solution. I'm thinking of just trying to type Support 1 in the change IFF sexp to see what happens. Disabling support isn't an option since I need it for plot.
How does setting a dedicated support ship in FRED work in comparison to regular support ships? Looks like a straight forward sexp.

If you simply add a support ship to the mission it will support the player on request and since it's a normal ship you can do whatever you like with the IFF.
Just remember to prevent any further support ships from arriving if it is destroyed.

Shouldn't you use set-support or whatever that SEXP is?

Yep.

Good that was my current train of thought anyway. Disable support ships and just add one. Just didn't know if the IFF stuff would blow it up. It might anyway if I try it. Speaking of blowing stuff up has anyone ever tried using the sexp version in multi?

Don't disable them until the first one you placed in the mission is destroyed. Once disabled you can no longer send the message to the support ship to come and dock with you.
You simply place the ship in the mission and then use the SEXP to disable them if the one you placed is destroyed.

OK. I thought I read that you had to disable support in the mission specs in order to use the sexp. Guess that thread was wrong.

I did correct the person who posted that IIRC. :D
