Title: Red vs Blue: Reconstruction
Post by: Triple Ace on April 08, 2008, 08:56:56 pm
A few days ago on the 3rd, Rooster Teeth Productions anounced and released a trailer for their new RvB series. I see this as good news for anyone that was disapointed by the finale of the Blood Gulch Chronicles with the many loose ends needing to be tied. The new series seems to take place after Blood Gulch and uses Halo 3. It is unclear by the trailer whether it will be a comedy or a drama like the Recovery One spinoff. There are three versions of the trailer for anyone who is interested. The flash version can be found on their main page. http://www.roosterteeth.com/home.php (http://www.roosterteeth.com/home.php).

Doesn't sound very "comedy" to me, aside from the very end.  The wording seems funny.

Rooster Teeth has been experimenting with a much more serious storyline in both the Recovery One mini-series and now this. In fact, Reconstruction seems to be a sequel to Recovery One... the guy who killed all the people in trailer also appears to be the mysterious antagonist from Recovery One.

Warning: slight spoilers below for main series.
Now: "the ship". Many fans seem to think that this is the same ship that crashed in Blood Gulch at the end of Season 4... and apparently exploded in the finale. I happen to think that this isn't a very far-fetched theory... the delayed explosion made me wonder if something with the ship's warp drive (or whatever the RvB series equivalent is) ruined the intended effect of Andy's explosion and deposited the ship in that valley. After all, if a bomb combined with active weather controlling machinery can catapult you 800 years into the future, why not?

The 'Blood gulch' chronicles became not funny any more when it became 'coagulation' and 'zanzibar' chronicles instead.

haven't watched it for ages but sounds like RvB is taking itself a little too seriously....

RvB suffered from its own fame, when it was 3-4 people it was funny, but it went on for too long and started adding too many cast members.

It didn't help that in Season 3 they began trying an actual story that got FAR too confusing to keep track of.

The thing I hated the most is that halfway point in season 3 when they went back to season 1 so I gotta give that one to you.

Meh, I liked all of it...  Except the last five episodes.  Those seemed to be nothing more than poorly regurgitated script in order to end the series.
