Title: Target Reticles Not Quite On Target...
Post by: Commander Zane on April 12, 2008, 07:57:36 am
Well...unfortunately I can't give screenshots to get straight to the point, but I'll explain this as best as I can.
I'm flying about, enemy ships appear. I target it, get within weapons firing range, adjust my heading so my reticle is on the lead indicator, then something odd happens, the target reticle moves out of place and when I fire into the lead indicator, the projectiles don't hit.
What could the issue be behind wandering target reticles?

A widescreen resolution, or generally any non-4:3 resolution. There are some builds that fix the issue but with your standard 3.6.9, no widescreen.

What resolutions can I use then? The only one I know of is 800 x 600.
What builds can I get to fix it?

1024x768 is a pretty standard resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio. I would dare to say that most people here play in 1024x768. A build with a widescreen fix can be found here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,52260.0.html), but personally I don't use it. Things like the HUD and all the interface is still stretched, though the targeting reticle should work.

I just found out that resolution works.
