First off, thanks for putting out what seems to be the only good quality B5 game out there.
This is probably a real n00b question, but I've been having a problem in the Raider Wars mission where you have to scan the asteroid base and capital ships. I can't do it! In previous missions, and other scenarios, I have only been able to scan things by getting really close to something and keeping the object targeted and it happens automatically. In this mission, however, I get proximity alerts before I can get close enough and I have yet to even start scanning something before they demand the clearance codes and attack me. I've looked for, in the Options list of commands, a way to activate a scan manually but without success. So, how do I perform a scan?
Also wanted to ask if something was a bug or if my memory of the show is faltering. In the mission where Eris is revealed and the two Psi Cops attack you, I kept getting messages about buying Spoo (this sounds familiar, but I haven't seen much B5 in ages). It says at first that I have bought it and then I get error reports saying I don't have enough funds. Being new to this whole engine I have yet to see any trading so this one has me completely lost.

problem 1: you have to scan the individual subsystems, just point your fighter in the appropriate direction and be within 300m
problem 2: just try to ignore the damn raider virus  TBP is a spaceflight-combat simulator, not a Elite-Style game. There is no trading or free roaming the galaxy. Just missions.

Target the asteroid base. Use the S key to target each subsystem in turn.

People take that Spoo Ranch thing way too seriously. When I first saw that, I was like "lol", but it seems that there are quite a few who are concerned that TBP has accessed their bank accounts and invested all their money into Spoo Ranch shares. I mean, dude, it's a game.

TBP has accessed their bank accounts
:nervous:

what EXACTLY are you playing usually? Uplink?

:wtf:

Does anyone know how to fix problem in the mission where Psi wing is destroyed; around destroying Psi wing and destroying/disarming G.O.D Sat., game crashes?
-
Which version of TBP are you running? I assume this issue has been fixed in the latest release candidate (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,51780.0.html).

I am using 3.4a.
-
Well, try the 3.4b.

TBP 3.4 b crashes when i press "run".
I tried to run it from folder...
errorlog:
fs2_open_3_6_9_INF caused an Access Violation in module ig4dev32.dll at 001b:0c017277.
Exception handler called in FreeSpace 2 Main Thread.

Try to switch to fs2_open_3_6_9.exe or something like that from the Launcher.

No vittu. Äijä on suomalainen. Oisit heti sanonu.

:wtf: You should have. If you've followed instructions. That is, you uninstalled your previous TBP before installing the new one. Try uninstalling and reinstalling 3.4b. If it doesn't help, send feedback to the appropriate feedback thread on the TBP board.

Well... ig4dev32.dll is OpenGL Device Driver for Intel Graphics Accelerator.
So it's definitely a graphics related problem... but whether it's related to particular settings you're used, or to particular FS2_Open build(s) or your graphics processing unit, I don't know.
What kind of settings does the Launcher's Video tab show? Obviously you're using OpenGL since it's trying to use OpenGL part of the GPU driver... say, are you using the same bit depth (most likely 32-bit) as the desktop?
Also, try selecting a debug build from the Launcher and running it. Then post the ../FreeSpace2/data/fs2_open.log (if I remember the path and filename correctly :nervous:) and hopefully we'll know more about what exactly goes wrong and where.
I'm curious though - what's wrong with the system on your sig, or are you just trying to get the game to work on your laptop as well?
