I can't get FRED to work with anything but normal FSO, and even that seems to be screwed. When I enter a mod name on either 3.6.9 or .10, it refuses to see it. And when I use normal FSO, no mod, it sees a whole bunch of ships I haven't seen before. The PVI Shah, the GTI Polaris (which both seem to be a Karnak), a bunch of ST ships (GTD Orion#Krios, etc.) Also, I'm getting stuff that seems to be from BWO and PI, but those .VPs aren't anywhere they shouldn't be.
Also, it won't work in an alternate FS directory I made months ago, which tells me it might have something to do with registry or something.
Also, I've found the SF Gorgon, which I KNOW shouldn't be there.

Found it out, Awakenings was selected in the launcher. Guess it must be a 3.6.10 addition.

And I always thought the launcher didn't affect FRED... Maybe because I'm not often using FRED for making FS missions?

The launcher doesn't affect FRED for me. Right now I'm using FRED for my own campaign, and playing a different campaign. I've seen no instances of the launcher affecting FRED while doing this, so I suspect that the problem lay elsewhere...

Yea, the launcher never affected FRED.
I had to make a shortcut to run the mod path.

It seemed to be a bug as I'm using 3.6.10. I had to deselect Awakenings in the launcher, and it never happened again.

What build are you using? I've been using the 3.6.10 build from Turey's installer without that problem... Just curious to see if there is a build that I should avoid. ;)

It's not a bug. Builds from 3.6.10 on are affected by launcher settings apparently.

Seemed to work for me with Derelict yesterday.
Regardless, it's a good idea so long as people are warned. No more messing with command lines and creating multiple FRED shortcuts depending what Mod you're working on. I like it! =)

I tried to do it purposely, but no go. Perhaps you need a mod.INI or something, but that shouldn't affect it.

I just tried again and it didn't work for me either. *shrug* I'll post about it in the SCP forum.

It's actually affected 3.6.9. The bug lies with FSPort being selected as a mod in the launcher. Where it gets the Gorgon from, I have no clue.

Awakenings. It uses the Gorgon (IIRC) and it also uses FSPort as a multimod.
