Title: NO sound?? help please
Post by: applestew on April 25, 2008, 06:11:53 am
:confused:Why is it that some campaigns work fine (derelik, JAD) while others seem to have no sound? even the well known The Blue Planet and Homesick does not have voice?

I have downloaded the latest version of Homesick, and still hear nothing in the briefing room except game sounds. Is it something wrong with my installation? or can soneone provide a list of worth downloading fully voiced campaigns?

Check User Made Campaigns from the FreeSpace Wiki. Voice acted campaigns have a V next to their name.

Srsly, very few user made campaigns are voice acted. Voice acting takes time. And effort. And people. And most of the time it isn't even necessary. You can just read what they're saying.

To clarify:

When a campaign isn't voice acted, it uses a computer-generated voice. That's why it sounds choppy. You can turn it off under the "Speech" tab in the launcher.

That is, if you have ticked the ****ing "Let Microsoft Sam take over the world!" options from the Launcher.
