is it important what version of MS Express Edition i have? Or can i download the 2008 version?
-
The 2008 version should be fine. Just remember that you can not compile FRED builds with it as it lacks the required libraries (MFC) but you can use it to compile FS Open exes. So you can make the game exes but not mission editor exes.
-
and what do i need to compile the FRED? And what is the FRED? :DD
-
FRED is the mission editor. If you plan to make any changes to the code which involve mission design you'll need to be able to add them to FRED.
