This little gem of a bug has me wanting to scream!
Does ANYONE have the FOGGIEST clue on how to fix this?
I put a new ship in the game, all the guns are working fine, the weapons are fine, ive tested them on another ship, but for some reason, every single shot just passes through the ship, lights it up for a moment and does nothing. Only a tiny corner of the ship has any hit detection.
How the hell do I fix this? :mad:

Open the model with PCS2, hit "Purge BSP Cache" resave.
If this doesn't work, then the model is borked.

Am I the only one who doesn't have a clue what "Gem of a Bug" even MEANS!? :wtf:

psc2 can fix that bug. Do as Droid803 says, will fix ghost ships.

I thought it meant a small bug.

I thought that was because you are shooting a ship that has shields on the table and no shield mesh?
Sometimes I would forget when testing to change the entry to 0 (especially for a Cap ship using a fighter table for model stability testing only) and phasers would go right through the thing. ;)

Thanks for the help! That BSP cache thing worked! Now my dual gattling guns shred the ever loving crap out of enemy fighters!

Nah, custom ship. Dual, triple barreled guns firing ten times a second with the "cycle" flag and horrible accuracy FTW! It's just as fun to shoot them as to be shot at!
