Title: Fun little free Browser game
Post by: Ryan on May 07, 2008, 07:57:48 pm
www.tarsusempire.co.uk

Its pretty fun. Conquer planets, build/customize fleets, write an empire history... Imitate your favorite sci fi race... *cough*shivanempire*cough*

Anyway, if you sign up, message my empire the Tken! (Should be T'ken, pronounced Te-Kin or Te-ken, but doesn't support Those ' keys. Message the Tken!

Yep, sounds just like any other free sci-fi browser based game.

Yep, sounds just like any other free sci-fi browser based game.

Except this one has a graphic interface, and its a persistant universe! NO resets!

I'm the Reto (pronounced Ray-toe) Consortium. ('course, I named it that before I saw that it automatically adds the word "Empire" at the end.)

The large-scale battles are surprisingly boring. No fun in watching a huge cluster**** of ships traffic jammed together launching lasers at each other while the framerate sits in about 15-20 (not bad considering all the bump maps, though).

tried that, hated it. I hate all of that company's games. you have to wait three days just to get started with your first building...

:wtf: You get your first building as soon as you start Ogame. The problem with Ogame is they practicly encourage the raiding of noobies

They encourage raiding in general. Raids aren't always intented to be a way to gain resources.

I know what you mean. It starts pretty impressively, fleets closing to range, then degenerates into fist fights between ships. Gets boring after a while. I found that spamming light carriers makes it pretty easy to win. Catching capital ships is irritating though.

I have no idea what I'm doing. In Tarsus, anyway. It needs a tutorial of some sort.

lol necro

But the immense lack of grammatical rules in this game makes me turn away, not mentioning it's strangely slow and unoverviewable GUI.
