Title: Unable to detect my joystick
Post by: havoc302 on May 13, 2008, 06:48:48 pm
Hey guys, sorry to make my first post here a support request, but for some reason the launcher is unable to detect my joystick, when i first installed the game and started playing i remember it detected it no worries, it's a pretty basic joystick, a logitech attack 3, i don't play many games that require one so i saw no need to buy top of the line, for some reason though the launcher for the BSG mod detects the joystick just fine still, my joystick still works on the FS Open 5.5 Launcher but i have to set it to Microsoft PC Joystick Driver, i don't mind running like that since it works but i'm not sure if that's what's causing my game to crash, in the first mission when your guarding those 3 transports when i go to attack the very first wave of fighters that attacks my game crashed to desktop and the computer says that the game is not responding, here's the stats of my computer:

I really love the game, i haven't played it since when it first came out and that was only a OEM with 1/3 of the campaign, i'd really like to finish it now, especially since it looks so much damn better.

Thanks in advance for any help any of you can give.

Matt.

Are you using 3.6.9 or .10? Try getting Launcher 5.5d, in the SCP Recent builds subforum.

Don't worry, you're not the first one.

As our good friend already suggested, try Launcher 5.5d (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/Launcher55d.rar). The joystick detection code in it is supposed to be improved.

try getting a hold of the logitech gaming software that comes with your joystick and see if you can make it go that way

No, never get their software. You only need the driver.

I've only ever had bad experiences with the crapware that comes with stuff. Make sure that you use CCleaner to stop it from running on startup, Logi**** software slows your PC down a lot.

Good. So no luck? Did you do what I said and recalibrate it? Reinstall the drivers.
