Title: Displaying text messages in game.

Yes its me again and I do apologize in advance for this might be a dumb question. In the regular multiplayer scenarios that came with freespace 2, the text is displayed normally on top of my hud when someone speaks or when a wingman responds to an action or order. However, in my test scenarios in FRED, no text is displayed at all when wingman responds to an action or command (the voice file still plays though) or from the event messages that I have created. How do I activate the in game text messages during game in FRED?

Using a 3.6.10 build (the karajorma allfighterfix build. Again thank you Karajorma!)

My hud in options is fine. (set to display in game text messages when they suppose to appear)

Is this happening client side, server side or both?

Cause FS2 has lots of bugs that only happen client side.

Sorry for not posting right away. I was at work working 10 hours straight (grumble....grumble...grumble.) Anywho I think I found another bug for you Karajorma (Hooray!!!). I done some quick testing and the in game text does will not appear at all when the mission is checked with the Red alert mission in mission specs.  I tested this in my mission without the red alert mission checked and the text works just fine in game.

So in short when a mission is checked with a red alert mission in mission specs. The text coming from anything such as pilot responses/scripted text will not appear at all in game.

I know this is unrelated to the topic thread but I have another question. Is their anyway to set the mission so it can make the players arrive late in game (for example the battle gets underway 20 seconds before the players enter the game).

You can simulate this by setting damage on the ship hull and subsystems and/or destroying some ships before the mission begins.
