I've been trying to design a ship. Its supposed to be somewhere between a destroyer and a juggernaut, ~4000-5000m long, and in the style of StratComm's Terran Fleetpack. The problem is, I've had trouble coming up with the general shape of the ship. I have a few concepts that follow the general shape of a battlestar, but I have my doubts about that, simply because it would look too much like a battlestar. So I need help coming up with a design. Any ideas?

Don't be afraid to be derivative, just also don't be afraid to go back and screw with it a lot later.

Add wings or some middle projection to your corvette in the other thread.

Make it like a dagger with discs at the end

Why not make it Raynor-shaped back, and give it a Sideways Chimera head? (but DO add broadside cannons.

What? He was making a serious comment.

My designs always look good on paper, but are incredibly irritating to model. On the bright side, I succesfully built one out of lego pieces.

Its funny how there's more comments on a joke suggestion than actual suggestions >.>

We like to have fun.
Anyway. When I design a ship, I tend to take into consideration how i want the ship to fight and its combat role. Do I want it to slug it out ? Do I want it to rain long range fire? Do I want it to have heavy forward ordnance? Or do I want it to be able to wade in deep and take on all comers? Once I figure that out, I start designing the ship in a way that makes in best suited for its role.
