Somebody has or know from where can I download the FS 1 disk images.....I can't find them :(
Thanks

Would FSPort do the trick?
-
Disk images.......no, however you could download the FSPort which will run the FS1 campaign on the FS2 Open engine, with mediaVPs selected it looks superb, (speaking of which I am playing it right this minute on my desktop, typing on my laptop)
EDIT: Damnit Lobo beat me to it!
NVRmind

can the fsport team import the fs1 menu interfaces to it?

They have. :wtf:

not just the mainhall. (dunno if i'm confusing this with Alpha) there was a gray/blue interface, not the green/blue thats from FS2
-
Yikes! Do you have any idea what that would entail? Browse through Sparky_hi_fs2.vp some time and realize that every single one of those chunks would have to be replaced and aligned.
In theory it can all be done with just Irfanview and Anibuilder... so if YOU'D like to try it be our guest.

I tried doing it a few years ago...
...I got about halfway through one of the screens and said "screw it". Although I'd love that blue feeling, it's just not worth it.
EDIT: Although I'd love it if somehow the SCP team managed to allow custom formatting so we could just copy>paste the original FS1 interface.

The FS1 interface is one of the things I also had planned to do, but never got around to learning how, much less doing it. Irfanview and AniBuilder, huh? Hmm. :drevil: Don't hold your breath, though. xD

You also face the problem that the entire FS1 interface is for 640x480 so you'd have to make the high res version too.

Unless you would be willing to sacrifice some quality for more retro feeling...
After all, the mainhall hasn't been made high-res either (albeit the reason for that is more about the fact that rendered animations would be really hard to increase in resolution in a way that would look good...).
...and I suspect that it wouldn't be quite as easy as just tossing the FS1 interface files into FSPort directory... FS1 probably used at least some different filenames for the interface, so you'd practically have to cross-reference FS2 interface files and find corresponding versions from FS1 interface files, and rename the FS1 interface files to same as the corresponding FS2 file, if it weren't already named that. Of course, I could be wrong and it could work "out-of-box", but I seriously doubt it. :blah:
Another choice is to simply change the hue/saturation/lightness of all FS2 interface files to match the FS1 look and feel as well as possible. But that would be a pretty arduous task as well...

I compared the FS1 demo and FS2 interface files once. Fs2 interface is in seperate pics and etc. Fs1 demo - ani files. Plus the size difference. And the in-game HUD is hardcoded, as someone said. Though I've seen an old Star Wars mp standalone FS2 mod, where the HUD is totally different, and placed differently. And the interface too. You can't really tell that it was FS.

Unfortunately IrfanView and Anibuilder are not sufficient. You'd have to go through the code and hand-edit all of the coordinates too.
