I got FS2 Colossus with my joystick and have played the campaign dozens of times over the past few years. I was wondering if anyone had done the same.
-
If it counts for the FS1 counterpart, FS1 Darkness Rising, over 50 times.
-
If it isn't any different from FS2 campaign's first missions, about 5-10 times. FS2 Colossus, never even seen it in shops IIRC.
Yeah, I haven't played the FS2 campaign very many times after all. Although the jump from ten to "beyond count" is quite big... It might be more than ten times but I haven't counted.
-
its the game where only missions with colossus are included afaik
-
Uhh... I thought it was all the first missions up to the death of the Repulse
-
the complete game, up to the first SOC loop (you don't do the loop)
i played multiplayer (by myself) alot with that, i remember once i had an erynies with dual morning stars and dual tag bs, not knowing what any of them were. i got pwned XD
-
Have I what now?
-
I know FS thanks to it, I bought that joystick in November 13th, 2003(my birthday).
I played it Beyond Count...
-
The only reason I ever played FS was because it came with my family Desktop. Never seen FS2: Collosus
-
I just play FSO, since FS2: Colly, I've never seen.
-
Got it with a Logitech, played it 5+ times.
-
found it hidden underneath the bed of my cousin's house.
She gave it to me. That started my love for this game.
Never had a joystick. I am a number-key man...
-
WTF is FS2 Collosus??! :wtf:

THe promotional FS2 colussus that came with some Logitech Joysticks.
Where is the "Never" option?
-
i have the joystick right next to me, i'll check and see what it is...
Logitech Wingman Force3D

That's annoying. Mouse control here.

I can't remember if I got i with an Attack 2 or Force 3D.
-
Bah, who needs joysticks, number pads or mice to fly craft! I use a laptop finger pad! Try controlling an Orion with that! Flight by touch is the way to go!
-
You really get into role play.
And why can you select 3 options?
-
I've never played (or had) it, but I always set the ship's controls to something more similar to Wing Commander. For example, using the arrow keys to control the ship instead of the shields, or using the spacebar to fire guns and enter to fire missiles. However, I do like FS's large amount of targeting options, so I haven't really changed those around. :)

"Role Play?" I've said this 1,000 times, I am Admiral Wolf. I am able to speak to you as a Doctor in a blue box somehow materialised in the Galatea fighter bay and showed me both the present and my future. I am aware of my fate in 2335, but through a Paradox machine, the Doctor has enabled me to communicate with you, the "players" of a training simulation designed to prepare Earth for the forthcoming events.
Galatea Out.
-
That was an out-of-body experience.
-
Thanks to FS2: Colossus, I found and fell in love with all Freespace 2! Anyways--it came with my Logitech Wingman Force 3D. I must have played it 15-20 times at least!
-
Oh, you get it when you get a joystick. Probably why I never heard of it before.
-
Yeah. Probably should have mentioned that at the beginning but i was pretty sure you guys would figure it out anyway.
-
Oh I'm sure everyone else did. I'm just weird and don't use a joystick.
-
I got it free with a Force 3D - Which I bought to play FS2. :D
-
IRONY WINS!!!
-
Keyboard only.
I've only played the full retails. . .
@miral_wolf did this "doctor" have a woman with him? ;7 if so which one, and when you get her on here. . . .or the next London do?
-
Funnily enough yes. Very nice attractive blonde girl called Rose. Shame she brought the boyfriend Ricky with her...
-
Colossus was my first contact with the Freespace... I played it countless times before I found the full version somewhere on the Internet a few years later.
-
That's exactly how it went with me too.
-
FS2 Colossus started my obsession for FS2.
-
/me has voted.
I was about to vote "WTF is FS2 Colossus", but after reading the first few posts, I voted "Never".
This is how I got my hands on FreeSpace 2...
Compaq Desktop PC running Windows 98 SE -> Bundled FULL VERSION of Descent 3 -> Descent 3 CD 2 -> FreeSpace 2 Trailer -> FreeSpace2.com -> FreeSpace 2 Demo -> Azureus -> Alcohol 120% -> FULL VERSION of FreeSpace 2
FreeSpace 2: Colossus was probably the "Descent 3: Sol Ascent" of FreeSpace 2 (i.e. Level-limited "Special Edition").

Never. I had FS1 recommended to me and bought it. Then I saw FS2 in the game store and was wondering where the marketing was, and bought it. Then I found some of the old web sites and downloaded some of the old campaigns. Then I forgot about it for a few years, loaded it up on a new computer on a whim, went looking for the fan campaign stuff again, and I found this site. Now I have pretty ships. (I bought silent threat too. :( )

Smart move. Apart from the FS2 Demo and Trailer, I got everything else from BitTorrent.

EDIT: oops, I typed inside the quote
You mean -around- the Galatea, since its inside is so big... ;)
I like how most people voted for "WTF is FS2 Colossus". But I say most poeple have played it in theory if it is just part of the normal FS2 campaign. Also known as FS2 Lite - Why The **** (WTF) would you get a Lite version of anything...though I have never seen a Hevy version of anything...
-
And you posted that why?

These, gentlemen, are the two strangest posts in this thread.
