I recently unearthed my old copy of FS2, found out from a friend about the fantastic work you're all doing here to make a great game even better. So first, thanks for that.
Anyway, I installed the game and the most recent version of the SCP (3.6.9 I believe) and I was playing through FS2 again, when I noticed something a little off during "Surrender Belisarius"
Everything seemed a little... fast. Not unplayably fast, but very much faster than I remember. Everything seemed to be going at 1.5x speed, fast enough to be noticeable. I'm wondering if this is an issue with my PC being too fast for FS2 now, or if it's something in the SCP that I can tweak and adjust. It's not horrible as I said, but when some of the conversations are being cut off as one group quickly speaks after another and the entire Psamtik-Belisarius exchange (including the Belisarius's destruction) takes less than 10 seconds, it just seems a little off. Anyone know any way to slow things back down to normal FS2 speed without going back to the vanilla game?
Thanks ahead of time.

Are you sure you didn't simply set time advance on, probably when trying to select missiles or turn on dual fire mode.
In the bottom right corner of your screen below the current mission time it should say x1. My bet is that it says x2.
-
Aye. If I recall correctly, Shift + : speeds up the game and Shift + ; slows it down.
-
:welcome:
They're right; check your time multiplier.
-
I'll be damned. :D
Well, thanks a ton guys.

I dont know about Shift +, but I use Shift > and Shift < to change gamespeed.

K. I think I have those at their default configuration. And with those commands it has always worked.

Nope, I've never changed it, and it's always been < and >... hmm. I'll check to be sure though.
-
 You wanna take it outside?! j/k
I'm absolutely sure about my configuration and as soon as I've finished my breakfast, I shall check it.
-
Heh. No. No fighting. We're on the same side. However, if you would like to take the other side on a multi-match.. ;7 Hmm, but yeah, I'll check.

just a stupid though.......
for those who have qwerty keyboard it should be < and > right ? look at the azerty keyboard :D by default it's ; and : .......
I would like to say something about you two but I'll shut up......
-
Baka. I have a qwerty too. A Scandinavian-ish qwerty if that matters, but still a qwerty.
-
then check the information about your keyboard, it's obvious that < and > are used with qwerty keyboard (all the friends who test my missions use shift + < or > to get things faster or slower) while I use : and ; (I have an azerty keyboard)
maybe the game didn't recognize your keyboard xD
-
Frankly, I'm not complaining since everything works. , and . (or ; and : ) toggle primary weapons. Hold down shift and they access the time compression.
Does it count if <, > and | are all under the same button?
Edit: Uno momento, it seriously seems that the Scandinavian variant actually varies from the "standard" qwerty, in addition to the extra letters. Once I get a chance, I'll scan my keyboard and post a picture of it.
-
on an azerty keyboard < and > are on the same touch , whereas on a qwerty one these are two differents touch. that mayb explain why you have he azerty fast/slow touches on a scandinavian keyboard
-
As promised... here (http://koti.mbnet.fi/reiler/FunkyFreeSpaceStuff/funkykeyboard.jpg).
Look me in the eye and say that it's an azerty.
-
look at a real qwerty keyboard..... a look for those < > touch . your keyboard isn't azerty , neither qwerty......
you have amix between azerty and qwerty Oo
-
look at a real qwerty keyboard.....
I have. That's why I wanted to show an actual picture of my keyboard since I realised that there was much confusion in this thread.
your keyboard isn't azerty , neither qwerty......

It is a highly typical layout here in Finland. I guarantee it.

If you find the name of this configuration, I would be glad to hear it (since I'm fond of computing, this is something I want to know)
I'll try to make some searchs by myself =)
-
I don't think there's any "name" other than Scandinavian QWERTY.
Funny, I never knew there'd be this much difference between qwerty layouts. I have to be more careful when recommending FS keyboard configurations to new people. :nervous:
-
The ; and : are on the same key for me, and on the board you posted, they're where my < and > are.
-
Sigh... as if life wasn't difficult enough without keyboards.
Conform or be butt-****ed. That's what I always say. Imma develop a keyboard that has every goddarn symbol ever used. Then everyone can have the same layout. No more problems with advice. No more arguments about button locations. Resistance is possible, but not recommended.
Not srsly.
