It was out, it's back on now. I just spent an hour or two on my mountain bike instead of tv sunday morning.
I saw kids at most street corners who looked amazed at the outside world. It's like they'd never been out aside from making the walk to school. I saw a fat teen out with his dad (who looked a fitness addict) he was barking "motivational speeches" and they were only at a ten degree incline as i passed them. I reckon i could have dealt with a longer outage if it meant kids leaving their house ;D
-
What time was it?
-
Half nine'ish. Although the fire which caused it was at half seven according to the BBC news website.
-
Well anyhow I wasn't affected. So I was fine sitting in my house without needing to go outside.
-
 That old chestnut....
I don't blame, ya being a mod and all...
>with great pwer comes great responsibility etc<<
-
. I know what you mean, I'd be outside now save for a huge project.
We've got so many fat little ****s in my school, and they brag about how good they are at Halo and COD4. It's super-annoying, and I'm just like. "GO GET A ROOM! PREFERABLY WITH A TREADMILL!"
-
I mentioned elsewhere i wouldn't let my kid near a compuiter til he's at least ten. That's only for schoolwork. And as a reward for fdoing schoolwork also..
-
He's/she's/it's going to play consoles at his/her/its friends' places, so people might as well have whatever kids they have get started on computers and never let them fall in love with evil consoles.
-
I see em both a couple of times a month.. I juast wanna ensure they actually leave the house once they start developoing socially. Build up some melanin and not turn into the comic shop sguy from simpsons....
-
Well I've spent my entire life on the computer and I have a... uh... several... friends.

You have kids?
-
Seriously, I would hate to have you as my dad (no offense!)
-
To be your dad, he'd've had to be 9 when you were born.
-
You know what I meant.
-
You have kids?
I do, and it's been mentioned that i am indeed divoprced too :p

So who's out for this London MK2 drink?
Ach, I really have to move to London. The last occasion looked like a lot of fun.
-
Are you in Glasgae? There's an Och up here ^ and i've noted a few oi's (read Oh Aye!)
-
Actually, roughly 6,000km away from London. Can't even really take a bus or a train.
-
No worries start an HLP drink night in your town... It could be like our version of Fight Club.
-
There are quite a few Finns here.
-
Power Outages, provided that you know they will be resolved before long, are kind of a fun thing. Everyones out on the street talking and you get to see people you almost never ever see on a normal day.
Computers are for during the heat of the day or the cold of winter. Otherwise its good to be outside...gardening or doing chores around the house, or doing something active. Walking, running, cycling, organized sports. Lots of things to do. Admittedly I haven't done much of the running recently due to injury but I hope to have that sorted out sooner than later.

I'm a complete recluse.

I know, but according to my current level of knowledge, only Mika resides in the same city as I. Oh well, two people are enough for a drinking party.
-
I get visions of the monolith scene from 2001 as these kids leave the house...

No. Just no. Here, in the winter, power outages are an almost daily thing. It gets so annoying and there's so much snow and the roads haven't been plowed... Well you get my drift.

And just when I would've needed an excuse for drinking in Saturday... But I was also dead tired.
Is it true what they say about the power cuts and related baby booms in the US?

* Looks three months old weather reports in China *
* Adds this to the information in the above quote *
-> Deduction: So THAT's where our snow went.
Mika

I don't live in China.
-
You do now. And bring back that snow. I miss it... :(

And once again I note I got completely misunderstood.
We should watch if the pattern of baby boom after 9 months from the power outage is repeatable here in Europe. It sounds like a way to fix the fertility rates in post-industrial countries - and a way to get those kiddies to outside world to do the stuff kids used to do. (Like disassembling the rifle bullets found on the shooting range and collecting the gunpowder for the common noble purposes of the young community)
:nervous:
What?

Or tinkering with your car.
though I wouldn't advise it with a new corolla.... :doubt:
