I feel young again. :)
-
Yea I dropped about 2k, musta been a spammer
-
What's the point of modifying a post count again?
-
I lost about 7000 :nervous:
-
Wow. That's scary. How did that happen?
-
All spam?
that's where i'm headed :nervous:
-
Looks like it's time to start over
-
I think the General Discussion not counting for postcount has been moved back to the creation of the forum, that's where all the posts went ;)
-
No!!! page 3!!...
-
Hmm, lost over half.
-
I don't know how many I lost if I lost any at all.
-
Ditto.
-
Hahaha! I don't do **** around here.

looks to me you've posted 3250 times. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=2015;sa=showPosts;start=3240)
-
I was just about to hit 3000 too. :ick:

Yes, and you'll notice that 3190 of those have been removed from my e-penis. I don't think I've done anything remotely related to Freespace since I was about 16.
-
Hey, I'm top 10 now. :)
-
lol an0n has 1,500 and change
-
wonder how much i lost hehehhe
-
about 100, IIRC
-
Massive e-penis circumcision.
-
Hahaha! I don't do **** around here.
-
Heh, wonder if this affected Snail much... :doubt:
EDIT: Not that I want it to. Actually, post count doesn't really add much, except perhaps credibility to newbies coming in looking for help... which is prolly why Gen Disc got nuked as far as post count goes.
-

Why was this done?
-
Cause it makes more sense not to count them at all rather than not counting them from some arbitrary date.
As for why they shouldn't count in gen dis at all, let me put it this way. The only tangible value of keeping track of post counts is to allow newbies to instantly tell who is a voice of authority within the community (avatars and badges being another). But if you only post on gen dis you probably aren't. Regardless of whatever your post count is, you probably don't pay that much attention to FS2.
You can always find your own post count fairly easily from last posts or your profile anyway.
-
I kind of wondered why they just cut off after a certain date anyway.
-
Hm, I lost about 5,000.
-
I've lost about... *looks*
Jimminy-cricket! ePenis circumcision nothing, i've been ****ing castrated!
Well, it could have been worse. Ford Prefect pretty much got a sex change right then and there.
-
:eek2:
I'm very surprised I only lost 668 posts!
-
Doesn't matter to me. I know what I've done and what I know. People who have been here a while know who I am anyways.
-
I think a better way to tell who is more important around here is a clear indication of the date registered and time active statistics.
-
Mmph, 8,205 (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=181). That one used to be 22,912. No comment.
-
Yea I noticed all the big guys lost a ton
-
Aldo has been gone for a while, and I don't think he'll be back. What a shame.......
-
Mine grew 7,000.
-
Probably because your nuked postcount got unnuked somehow during this change.
-
I asked for it to be nuked, actually.
-
Why?
-
So that Mobius didn't keep ranting about it to me over MSN.
-
*chuckles* he'll find another reason
-
I lost... none. because i only joined winter 06.
-
I joined in May 2006, and there was a considerable change in my post count.
-
I lost a few, I know that. 200 or so I think...
-
~500
RIP :(
-
Lost about 700, strange, never thought I posted much in Hard Light.
-
I didn't lose a single post.
:p
-
Ditto.
-
Well you were born here after the procedure!
-
Just goes to show how much things have changed around here. There used to be arguments that literally went on for days, back in the time of Stryke9, Tiara and Liberator etc, and thinking back to them now, they were 90% flame wars.
It was fun, but not really conducive to making HLP an accessible website for outsiders.
-
and thinking back to them now, they were 90% flame wars.
Yup.
It was fun, but not really conducive to making HLP an accessible website for outsiders.
 no kidding. I actually stopped visiting the Gen Disc forum entirely for awhile, and when they implemented this change, it did become a bit better. (Because, at the time of this change, they also introduced the "Padded Cell" where all flame wars ended up... brutally effective. Having served its purpose (enforcing civility), it was then removed.)
-
Your post is formatted oddly.

-
It seems I didn't lose any posts... Not that I wanted to, though.
Although I did notice that Starman01 lost ~100 posts...
-
Well you were born here after the procedure!
-
this is stupid!
you got your balls cut off for spamming, deal with it.
now learn your lessons and quit spamming, thread nuked
