Has anyone tried playing this mission in SCP recently? I'm using taylor's March 14th XT built and after I fight off all the enemies, which I seriously doubt are pirates, given the amount of firepower deployed, rather than docking with the station, the Capellan governor's shuttle just keeps bouncing off the thing until it loses all hull integrity and blows up.

Using the MediaVPs often fixes it.

Try this one, fixed by ARSPR, and other changed by me. Pleas post any other bugs you find; I have been slowly working out the remaining bugs in Derelict.

I'll double-check the mod.ini, but it should already be referencing the mediavps. If it's not I'll try fixing that, then try the patch. Thanks for the speedy help.
EDIT: Just checked, and whoever made the mod.ini had the mediavps referenced as Media_VPs. *sigh*
EDIT2: With the mediavps correctly addressed in the mod.ini file, I was able to progress, as the shuttle entered the docking bay of the Luxor instead of beating itself to death on the Ganymede docking ring.

That is either the ShivanSpS or Hip63 folder name. Go hit them. Or whoever made the mod.ini.

I should probably do something more constructive like upload a corrected standard mod.ini

It's already in the installer.
And anyone, even with VERY little knowledge, can edit a mod.ini.
But upload it anyway, help the young.

Ok. I didin't get Derelict via the installer. I hadn't intended to get it originally. Got bored with some other stuff and decided to see what the hype was about. It's pretty tough.

I am getting the same problem with the shuttle not docking...but I am using the correct mod.ini
any other solutions to this problem?
Also, I have progressed beyond this point before.
EDIT: Using 3.6.10 mediavps
and fs2open 3.6.10 build 5029

First thing to try is RC1. That 3.6.10 build is kind of outdated.

is the ganymede supposed to be on the same plane as the typhon? As in should the circular part of the ganymede go around the destroyer?

The problem is that:
+ That mission is made based on old mediavps releases which had an incompatible Faustus (compatible meaning "behaves like retail").
+ New mediavp 3.6.10. is compatible again.
+ Then, with or without newest mediavps, you get the rotated blocking Ganimede (which is actually DOCKED to a Faustus).
You need a fixed mission. Take it from Mantis 1168 (http://scp.indiegames.us/mantis/view.php?id=1168).

Alternatively, use Turey's Installer to update your Derelict installation. It will download a patch that fixes this issue plus a few others.
