What the ****? Another one?!

Very nice! :)
What the ****? Another one?!
If you do your modelling right, things like uglies and Tie variants should be moderately fast to throw together once the initial work has been done.
That said, you are going at one heck of a rate here Brandx :)
-
This one was pretty much a kitbash of a Bomber and Fighter (which makes sense, considering the filming model was built from a Fighter, with some added stuff, and then the bomber for Ep5 took the wings from vader's filming model)
-
Oh hell yes.
-
That was fast.

Here's something for fun

I'd have believed you if you'd said that was a still from the movie...
-
Schweet  You da bomb. :pimp:
-
I managed to see the top picture before the bottom one loaded, and I actually thought that was from the movie.
-
Hehe, It's what the special edition would have looked like if they redid that scene
-
I managed to see the top picture before the bottom one loaded, and I actually thought that was from the movie.
Me too... I could tell though. Because it was too good to be from the movie. ;7
-
In fact, the direction of the motion blur is more accurate on your rendition than the original, the ships looked slightly tilted forward in the movie image.
-
Hehe yeah I noticed that and fixed it for mine
-
The only way I can tell that yours is the not from the movie is by the lack of cockpits.
-
oh yes. Another of my favorite fighters. Definitely the best for looks, though I still have a soft spot for the Y-Wing for armament...
-
Man SWC has the scariest staff.
-
How are we scary?
-
Your speed-modeling.
-
I don't do drugs.
=P

I don't do drugs.
=P
Well we do, ecstasy when this is finished. And I wont be hallucinating, either...
-
Its easy to distinguish the original models from the SWC ones. The cockpit glass structs are shaped differently.
-
Well, that applies mostly to Vaders' ship, which had a flat glass front, from the look of things, as opposed to the spherical ones of the Ties themselves, whereas the newer model uses the standard central 'ball'. But if you hadn't seen the other one to compare the small details, it still would have been difficult to tell.
-
nono that applies to all SWC ties... the struts have more similarity to the rendered TIEs on the TIE Fighter cover box than to the films. The middle section of the SWC ties is more protruding and smaller than the one of the movie TIEs.
lookie look and compare here:

I think the reason for this incongruency is just that the orthographic schematics, which the SWC models are based on such as this is already incongruent to the movie models.

for comparison: (http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://hsfeatures.com/images/tiefightervb_3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://hsfeatures.com/tieinterceptorvb_1.htm&h=480&w=640&sz=70&hl=de&start=19&um=1&tbnid=q4WTc0KH7wCUcM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtie%2Binterceptor%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dde%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26hs%3DCQ7%26sa%3DX)http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://hsfeatures.com/images/tiefightervb_3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://hsfeatures.com/tieinterceptorvb_1.htm&h=480&w=640&sz=70&hl=de&start=19&um=1&tbnid=q4WTc0KH7wCUcM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtie%2Binterceptor%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dde%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26hs%3DCQ7%26sa%3DX
This incongruency applies to most of the models here. Especially the X-Wing. But I'm not nitpicking anyways. They are still beautiful, but not perfect :)
edit: somehow it doesn't show the rest of the pics I have inserted...
-
Ah, I think I can see what you mean, it's hidden behind the panel in the shot, but I can just see that the 'slope' of the ball-section on the Tie suggests a larger cockpit in the movie shot :)
