Title: Lodout Problem
Post by: carbine7 on June 14, 2008, 03:55:37 pm
I have used the search bar and didn't find anything, so I don't know what else to do. I am playing FS1 and when I go to the weapons loadout screen or ship selection screen, I can't change anything. It wont even select the weapon if i click on it. I am using the retail disks on a Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I'm not using any mods. Help!?

Which mission are you having the problem with?  Some missions don't allow you to change weapons.

Have you tried to create a new pilot and see if the same problem occurs?

And finally:  Why aren't you using FS2_Open with FSPort to play it?

The problem is with every mission and I haven't really bothered with Open except for FS2. I'll try the new pliot now.

Getting FS1 to run on Vista is quite an achievement. At least on my book. But I, too, would advise giving FSPort a shot, since you'll get access to prettier graphics that way. Not to mention a functioning version of Silent Threat, hmm.

That's funny that people have trouble with FS1 and Silent Threat. Mine work fine[except for the loadout]. But how do you get the port. Does it come with the standard open from Turey's installer or is it seperate. And if it does come with, how do you get it running. Thanks a lot.

Turey's Installer has an option for downloading the Port. Or you can download it manually from the Port website (FreeSpace Conversion under the Hosted drop menu at the top of the page). And do keep in mind that it's a "mod" for FS2/FSO, and doesn't require FS1 in any way.
