I read this article for an upcoming DS game:
http://ds.ign.com/articles/874/874179p1.html
and I'd love to replace their ships with a GTD Orion ;7

That game looks awesome, AND it's based on an Arthur C. Clarke novel! It doesn't get any better than this.

Freespace is a combat game.
Let's keep it that way. randomly flying an orion around would get boring fast

HOW DARE YOU! I should court martial you for that disrespectful comment! In fact I find you guilty now, and your sentance shall be to build a time machine and transport yourself to Deneb in the year 2335 and find yourself on the GTD Legion*. That should teach you what it's like to fly an Orion!

You could always send him to the GTD Eisenhower and see if he can take down the first Typhon encountered.
Regards to the original topic though how noddable is the engine in question? :s

A interesting point Colonal, however my view is that what is more scary, a single new Typhon, or the Lucifer fleet on it's way to Vasuda?
I could have had him go down with the Galatea when we get blown up, but I forget which system I'm in at the time of destruction...if command were able, I'm sure they'd kill me first for that major error...

I'd take the Shivans over stinking Zods any day.
I'm not adverse to the concept in question though. It reminds me of Nodewars.

I like this idea, sixlaneve... ;7

I'm hesetant to inform wolf of his outcome in the same battle

Depends, the campaign might be dynamic that way...
