Hi,
I've got a little problem in FREDing missions. I have messages in my missions and wanted them to have a wav sound each time someone speaks. But When I used a wav file corresponding to what I wanted, then the ani of the message just shows up the time of the wav file.
Is there a way of having a wav file of 1sec, a message of roughly 10 sec and have the head ani lasting 10 secs ?

You'd be better off using .wav files that are approximately as long as your messages.
-
The message lasts for an amount of seconds that depends on its length. You can't have the head ani lasting 10 seconds unless you create a head ani that actually lasts 10 seconds. Head anis are independent from message texts.

I just want to use the full head ani already used by fs2. but my wav file is too short for it.
Do I have to make a wav file of the each message's size ? (meaning create 1 wav file of 3 seconds, another of 4seconds etc...)

(meaning create 1 wav file of 3 seconds, another of 4seconds etc...)
At intervals, I guess. Make 4 wav files lasting 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 7 seconds and 9 seconds each.

any advice on what software to use to make a wav file with a beginning wav and an end wav ? (corresponding to the openning and closing channel)
-
You can just grab some from INFR1.

I have the begginning and ending of the wav file. I just need some software to edit them and put the correct amount of "void" between the begginning and the end
cue_voice for begginning
end_voice for ending
these are sufficients for what I need

Audacity?

after 15 min of handling the software I managed to get the wav I wanted
Thanks everyone.
I was wondering if in the next releases we'll have something to fix all that without generating many wav ?

Hmm yes that sounds like a good feature. "Head Animation Display Time"? Don't know if it's possible though.
