Title: Hellow all! and thanks
Post by: grunt123 on June 21, 2008, 03:12:19 pm: I've just joined this forum, and downloaded SCP to try out the modded game. I've always wanted to see Freespace 2 in more up-to-date graphics setting, and this is like dream comes true. My deepest thanks to all the developers who contributed to this mod.

Btw, i got a couple of questions ...
- Do you guys replace ship models with higher poly modes?
- I didn't see any post-processing mentioned in 'feature list' in wiki, is it planned for future version?
- Is there any chance that there are some user-made campaigns that expand storyline? (possible with voice and stuffs)

Quite many, actually. Some take place after the events of FS2, some before FS1 and the rest somewhere in between. Turey's Installer can download several high-quality campaigns. Others can be found from FreeSpaceMods and the FreeSpace Wiki. Not all are voice-acted, but there are a few. Voice-acted ones can be identified from the Wiki article.

Yup. Most if not all of them are HTL(which means Hardware Transformation and Lighting), which result in rather beautiful models with less load on the CPU.

Not true. We just call them HTL, they're just plain high-poly.

1. Yes, most of them are replaced. As this is a community project, not all are completed.
2. What is post-processing?
3. For good campaigns, try Derelict, Blue Planet, Procyon Insurgency, Second Great War Part 2, Homesick, Just Another Day Trilogy, Deus Ex Machina, Inferno (old), Inferno Alliance, Terran Vasudan War Project... The list goes on.

As for postprocessing, yes there are experimental builds that support shading (...and normal mapping which created a furry of modding to outfit existing models with normal maps).
