I started with 3 renders a few months ago, but that thread seems to have vanished. Bah - no matter! I present the Ancient Render Series (1-6), by Yours Truly. :D
Each image is based upon the ancient cutscenes of FS1, with alot of extrapolating and additions by me. Enjoy - that's an order! :p

There's a thing. Ancients were as bad as the Shivans.
Oh, and excellent.

Nice renders!
-
Thank you, thank you... :D

I love the last one, Sandwich. I'm not sure if I agree with the sentiment, but its good nonetheless.

I thought there were only five ancients cutscenes. I was under the impression that the last one was something new? I suppose I should go play the game again, though I doubt I will.
-
One of them isnt a Ancient cutscene, the last one is something else.

;)::excellent renders Sandwich::;)
I got an inspiration from your first render...thanks :D

Very, very nice dude... :)
I hadn't seen that last one before. It's something special. Killer job on it. ;)

The last one is Alpha1 monologue in the final cutscene :)

Phew - out of the army for 48 hours. :)

Very nice! I esecially liked the last one, thought it was by far the best...
Two thumbs up!

I also thought that the last one was great.:)

Sandwich, kudos for this work, man! :D
Concerning the last cutscene/monologue, that was Alpha 1, as Venom said.
There's something else I noticed in a FS1 download I got somewhere (I think it might have been the FS Reference Bible) that had preliminary write-ups and notes concerning FS1 as it was being scripted by :v: and Interplay. In this DL, the texts of all the monologues were included. But I noticed something extra in the final monologue. The final paragraph of the final monolgue read like this:
"I'M TOLD WE CAN EXPECT THEM AGAIN. BUT NOT IN MY LIFETIME. SUCH IS LIBERATION.
"MAY YOU LIVE TO SEE YOUR HOME."
Of course, as we all know, that final line about living to see home was dropped from the monologue; none of us who finished FS1 heard that line.
And technically, "liberation" is the wrong word to use; we hadn't been conquered by the Shivans, we were simply at war with them. They came close to wiping us out, true, but being militarily occupied by another race is MUCH different than being exterminated by them. You can't exactly be liberated if you were never under occupation in the first place. "Such is victory" would have been a better sentence to use than "Such is liberation." But that's just me and my English/Literature college education talking.
Lots of stuff was dropped from FS1 according to these Reference Bible notes. There were scripts of cutscenes that had to be dropped for space reasons; one memorable cutscene showed Shivan marines (without spacesuits!) pouring out of the Lucifer when it attacked Tombaugh Station just after the SC Taranis was captured by the GTA. Another cutscene that was dropped involved a bar brawl between Terran and Vasudan pilots after the Shivans had appeared.
It all looked to be nice stuff. Too bad it didn't make the cut.
Ok, back on topic: Sandwich, again, very nice stuff here. Most impressive. I salute you and your hard work. :)
Oh, BTW, is there any way to get these renders onto the HLP FS Story section?

sometime you can't be so literal. They were freed from the threat of extinction. I think liberated works perfectly and I'm sure they had people to check its proper usage before it was put it in the game

Anyway, you shouold read better. Liberation is'nt about the shivan, but about the fact that Alpha1 knows that he won't meet them again. Liberation of mind if you want, liberation from a fear that could have spread in alpha1's mind as the fear the shivans may come again in his own lifetime.
Hey :)
-
Su-tehp, I did get those texts from the reference bible, but I went over them while viewing the cutscenes to make sure they matched. The only one that was significantly different was the last one. :)
As for the FS Story... hmmm... :drevil:

Yeah, this makes sense now. I stand corrected. :)
