Is there a working particle system in FSO atm? Specifically, something that could be used to make a ship look like it was permanantly on fire, with smoke spewing from several sources and lasting at least some time in space? I know I could do it with weapon effects and the FOF stuff, but I was hoping there was an easier way.

A small preview tool would be nice, actually.
Maybe even a real editor, which simply writes a script in the end.
Also, if it was possible to set up particle emitters in FRED, or in models, particles systems would become a lot more useful.
