Title: Custom jump-in / jump-out. . . ?

Hellooo.

At the London'a'thon i picked some brains, i can handle the model and warpmap creation. But i fail to find the references in any .tbl files. I'm curious as to how to affect exit / enter velocity as the BTRL ftl jump has zero. I also wish to learn all the possible tweaks. TBP has effects for entering and exiting hyperspace and i wonder if this was a texture swap or a different .Pof entirely. Once i find the .tbl
I'll kick myself but until then i'm lost.
Any direction i should follow?

TBP has command line option which enables it to use one (ie. 'standard') for warpin effect and another (ie. 'knossos') for warpout (or vice versa).

Creating custom animations,.... is it hard-coded or can i use a tbm.? if so is there a template/example? :D

in short, i don't want to make a standalone mod, iwhat i've got wouldn't warrant such, ie- if i want to completely replace the effect (physics as well as animation)

and to hijack the thread....

would it be possible for the warp out effect to occur after the ship departs? Once i finish my connie class, i wanna play with the warp effects to see if i can make a star trekish type warp in/out.

Essentially what i want is for the ship to accellerate to a redicilous speed, vanish, and as soon as it poofs the light explosion like effect.

I assume that would be simple enough but then again ya never know

Search youtube for the stargate freespace mod jump test... UIt's nearly identical in concept. :nod:


There may even be a thread in here or Gen Disc highlighting said vid..
