Title: FRED Background Problem
Post by: Admiral Edivad on July 03, 2008, 12:13:45 pm
I have a problem with FRED: whenever i open a window (edit-ship....) it always disappear under the black background where the ships are to be placed. The attached image may suggest the situation. Note the edit-ship window and the select-ship bar which are cut by the background.

Mobius suggested it could be a rendering problem, but we don't know how to solve it.

If it might be useful i'm using the fred_2_open_3_6_10_INF version (from INFASA), and i just upgraded the video drivers with the omega drivers suggested by Fury (before this improvement FRED was not working at all).

Thanks

Are you running with any command lines active (like -nohtl for instance)?

Sorry for late reply;
I'm not sure of what your question means, karajorma... where are these command lines?
Do you mean in the "C:\Games\INFAlliance\fred2_open_3_6_10_INF.exe" path in the "properties" window of the FRED icon? (not sure in english the terms are correct...).
in that case, no. Anyway, i didn't change anything from the basics settings; however i don't know if the INFASA basic settings are the same of the INFSCP ones.

Hmmmm. I'm not certain what's the cause of the problem in that case. Run the debug build and post your log.

i'm not sure INFASA has a debug build... but i'll ask in the private section.

Given that I'm the only person who seems to have compiled an Inferno build in ages I'm sure that one has a debug build to go with it.

Try running a normal copy of FRED2_Open while you're at it with just the retail data.
