Can somone help me? I came across this Shivan Mod from Flaming Sword and after seeing photos of it, I descided to download it. Unfortunatly, when I put the files in the way I useally do, the game won't start. With having said that, Flaming Sword didn't include any installation instructions in the ReadMe file either! I'm really bumbed out at that and am in need of help. I'm really eager to check this mod out, so, can anybody please help? :( :sigh:

What do you mean by the way you usually do ? Can you post a screenshot of your directory contents?
When you install a mod you create a new folder inside your Freespace 2 directory, then place all the .vps included with the mod into that folder. That's all you have to do.

That's exatly what I did, but I keep getting error messages saying something about missing files!
What I'm trying to say is that when I install the mod as usual (that is, making a folder for the mod in the FS2 root directory and placing the files needed for the mod into that folder), I then start the SCP launcher and select the mod I want, then I start the game. The problem is when splash screen comes up is when I get a countless number of missing file errors. I'm not sure if that's suppose to happen or if those "trunk" files have anything to do with it. THAT'S why I'd like to have more specific install instructions!

Do you have a screenshot of your Freespace 2 directory?

It works fine without the optional files? If so, then you need to get the adv effects VP from 3.6.10 mediavps. They are required for the optional files to work.
And the regular 3.6.10 mediavps are required for the mod to work anyway.

Since you seem to have been asking the same questions in the Shivans! release thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,55031.msg1112916.html#msg1112916), this thread shall be locked. Just so that we can avoid confusion and jumping between threads. And because it's not polite to ask the same things in several places.
Good day.
