Title: FS2 Main Campain with Shivan Fighters

OK.  For those of you who were the guys from Flaming_Sword's "Shivans!" mod post, this is where the FS2 modded campain will be posted (THIS ALSO INCLUDES PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS FOR THIS MOD!).  For those of you who haven't read the posts, this mod is going to be small mainly because I'm still a bit new to modding with FRED2.  I do know how to use it, it's just I haven't made a full mod before, but, with time, I hope to make a Shivan mod myself inspired by Flaming_Sword's Shivan mod.  If you would like to help, then this is the current problem I'm having:

Well, I've got very, very good news!  The Shivan fighters and weapons are all showing up in the campaign and I even got the SCP enhancements working too, but I did it WITHOUT a VP file for the mod.  Unfortunately, there is at least one bug (of course), but it's very simple and virtually unnoticeable in the game.  The bug is the Shivan fighters' energy management.  So far, the SF Ashima decreases in top speed when all power is diverted to engines and twice as much when there's no power to the engines.  This is a very awkward bug, but I'm guessing it has to do with the fighter's TBL entry.  Also, about the "no VP" part, the only way I got the SCP enhancements to work was to place several core VP files that are needed for FS2 into the mod's folder.  Those files will be named in the ReadMe file upon release.

Other than that, all that's left is to test the mod for any more bugs and iron them out!  Once I get it working and stored in a ZIP file, you all will be the first to know and download it!  Just please bear with me

You can have your mod.ini file simply point to mediavps. If you will look at the ships.tbl in my mod, the energy bugs have already been fixed, and you can just copy the values (I haven't changed any flight or energy characteristics apart from bugfixes). Note that some of the shivan bombers also suffer from this bug (can't remember which).

Wow!  Thanks for the tip!  I haven't even flown the bombers yet, and besides that, I'm having troble with my FS2 3.6.10.exe files.  Something in the EXEs or the SCP enhancement was causing the game to crash in the middle of the loading.  I was re-installing the game when I posted this, so I'm guessing (if everything goes well) I can release this thing sometime this weekend.  Fingers' crossed!

Would you need a shivan stealth ship? I'm still trying to learn how to model it, so I'm using the Astaroth as a base model. I already have the design planned out.

Hull: light

It would have a weak shield and hull to balance out the massive firepower it would contain.

No offense, but if I were you, I'd take out the extra S. The Pegasus and the Ptah are stealth fighters but neither of them has an extra S in their designation representing the word "Stealth". Of course it is your call, but just wanted to point that out.

Why not just copy and paste the files or folders you need in the mod? If you had them in both places, wouldn't that work? Helped me when I installed the game. :P

Yea, but I'd like to know if they put any files into the VP to enable the enhancements or if they run from the MediaVPs?
