That's how desperate I am to keep from doing my homework. I'm checking forum numbers. God I need booze/women/drugs/good TV/a gun.

Bad TV and a gun works nicely, too.:D

SO many combinations I could use. Women and guns. Women and drugs. Drugs and booze. Guns and drugs (dope shot-gun :D).

Hey, wait a minute, why was the Freelancer forum taken down? More to the point, isn't Freelancer supposed to be coming out soon, or have they knocked the date back AGAIN?

Most likely, indefinitely. Like most promising games.

There's a reason the Westwoods of the world thrive.

I've signed up for Earth And Beyond beta testing.

Yet another interesting nugget: Why was an empty forum moved when HLP changed to vBulletin?

Because Shrike probably used some direct conversion process to port the whole lot package and all over. It doesn't really matter since only people who don't get out enough will ever run across it (:P)

Stryke hit the nail on the head. Indefinite release = indefinite news = sucky.

Actually, Kier did, but that's about right.  The vB converted does everything.

Which was very useful .. but it seemed to miss some really old threads (eg. Poor Setekh).

Why not turn it into a FRED forum?

Oh, it's not like we have a shortage of new forums waiting to be installed... but a FRED forum. Well, we'll see. There was a renewed interest in a FRED forum a couple 'months back, but... well, I guess we could post a poll about it.

The few FRED-related questions we get go in the FS Modding forum.

Up to you guys I guess, but the VBB isn't safe anymore, and I don't know if there is anywhere else to ask FRED questions. Even if there is, there's no way it could ever be as central as HLP is.

Glad this place serves its purpose

Still, Shrike has a point - the modding for does cover FRED to an extent... we'll see.

Well, the thing is... back when we had no art forum, there was some art. But when we opened Hard Light, it started streaming in; people posted because there was a dedicated space for it. I'm trying to consider whether the same would happen to the FRED forum... if it does, then it would be worth it. :)

and then with "sticky" options, you could post a FRED FAQ for people who register to ask a beam-free-all question
