Title: POFCS2 Error
Post by: varsaigen on July 17, 2008, 06:00:16 pm
I have had problems finding a good modeling program (which is fixed now) and just as I was starting to model, my POFCS2 starts going haywire.
1. It won't load the textures
2. just as it won't load the textures, it gives me this message:

I would also like to note that as it does this, it loops and sometimes, the model can double, triple, etc.

Well you may need to post that image again, as the site says it's not there.

Your image in the first post doesn't appear to work, but to get it to load textures you just need to tell it where to look for them. It can accept BMP, TGA, JPG, PCX and most importantly DDS (these are the ones the game will use) file types.

To set up where it should look for them, go to options>preferences. Click browse and find the folder where your textures are. You also might want to add a \ to the end of the path - though I've not confirmed if that's required or not.

As for the looping - you'll have to explain that in more detail. I've never heard of or seen anything like that.

Ok, the program appears to be working properly now. :) Now my only problem is opening my file so the textures can be applied. It's basically a texture switch,, and I can't seem to get anything opened in Blender, Truespace, or any other suggested programs. D:

Ok - so are you opening a .POF file? or some other type of file? and if something else what type is it?

I have been trying almost all I could get it converted to. I tried cob, but that would require me to get the scripts to work. At the moment, I'm modeling from scratch, a terran base.

What program are you modeling the base in?

Milkshape. It's the only one I know pretty well. It's an awesome program once you get used to it. First model I made was for warcraft, but the trial ended the day I was about to start on animations. D: But, as I learned how to model from my making a warcraft model, I know the basics. :P I have my base just about finished. Then I need to UV map it and add textures. :/ Well, we'll see how it comes out!

What formats can Milkshape export?
