Title: RELEASE: Rogue Intentions II Trailer
Post by: Nuclear1 on July 19, 2008, 10:58:57 pm
So, it's been awhile since an update on this thing, so here it goes.  Video's about 2.5 minutes long, so enjoy.

Note the release date, though.

That looks pretty cool, watched it a few times. Only thing that bugged me was the music cut at 2:01, it was a little jarring. Might've wanted to fade that horn in a little bit to lessen the blow.

Overall was a pretty sweet trailer. Doesn't seem to be an abundance of Shivans though . . . it might help if I'd played more than one of the campaigns it was based on :) (so I could guess at what the heck the story was about).

Holy ****, that was epic. Its like some uber-crossover campaign, but still within the FS universe
What's with the "Colossus" though? Isn't it...you know...dead?

Where at?  The ship right before the cut to black is an Icelus destroyer from Inferno, which sort of looks like a Collie, but there isn't one in there.

There is a Columbus in there too, but that's a different type of ship entirely.

Must have read the escort list wrong then.
I swore it said "Colossus".

Not a rick roll? I must congratulate you.

Oh! This took me by surprise. It's very good to see you're making campaigns again, nuclear.

I think this could have been better edited, though. The cuts didn't match the music as well as they could have, there was an awful lot of text, and the music jumped around quite noticeably. I'm also not sure about the idea of a fan-campaign based on other fan-campaigns, but I guess I should wait to play it before judging.

Looking forward to this, regardless.

Cool. I Agree on the jarring music change, but otherwise pretty neatly done.

News - ed - let me know if I was inaccurate or anything.

Considering how many campaigns want to pick up where Derelict left off it's not exactly a new idea. My own campaign in fact was along that similar vein of being post-Derelict, but that was mainly due to the fact I wanted to use the GTFf Saphah at the time. Though, this campaign does seem a little more based on the previous ones by being a sort of ending to all three of them.

As long as nuclear doesn't mind telling all the inevitable noobs that he didn't do the previous three, just this one, seems okay. The only potential problem is that you might have the other creator's coming back and saying "that's not how I wanted it to end". I suspect they might be a little more flattered more than anything else though.

It's not like he will consider his campaign canon to the other 3.

The only campaign canon here is Rogue Intentions.  Sol:  A History and ITDOH are entirely Blaise Russel's and Noise's works (respectively), and Rogue II is not an official end to other two.

It's not like he will consider his campaign canon to the other 3.

Blaise Russel didn't consider Sol: A History canon to Inferno either, but half the people who've played it think it is part of the "official" timeline.

So all I'm saying there's a bunch of noobs that are going to get confused. So be prepared to set the record straight whenever it's finally released (2009). :D

You didn't read it wrong. It does say GTVA Coloss--- but what you failed to realise is that's a flashback to when whoever got exiled was fighting for the alliance. Should've been fairly clear from the text I'd think.

Oh, that.  Yes, that was a clip from one of the original Rogue Intentions missions.

Two Questions:

Where can I find the 3 Campaigns mentioned in the trailer?

And how do I import them into the Galatea mainframe?  We are using the FSO SCP you guys have made.

An epid trailer, have a Commendation Medal!

1.  http://freespacemods.net/download.php - Sol: A History and Into the Depths of Hell are under SCP Campaigns, and Rogue Intentions is a retail campaign.

2.  I honestly can't help you here.

3.  Thanks! :D

I think it's more a matter of preferring it over the official storyline.

Does this mean I should report to GameWarden for testing again? :P

Ah...that's the one campaign out of the three I haven't played. probably because its a retail campaign and I don't have retail FS...
That, or I'm slow.

btw, is it just me, or is the Orion-firing-terslash scene used twice?

In time.  Once more of these missions are fleshed out and I figure out exactly what extra ships are going in it.

Rogue works with any SCP build as well as retail.

As for that Orion scene...uh, maybe :nervous:

I think it's just you because I only see an Orion firing a BGreen twice.

2 questions:

Aproximately how many missions will be there?

And how's the music used in the video called?

I currently have no idea.  There will be two main storylines (one that follows the original Spinnaker/Methodus crew and the Exile fleet from ITDOH; the other the EA), consisting of three or four acts each.  Those won't be very long, and I already have most of the missions fleshed out or in planning stages.

The music is called "Trinity" by James Dooley, off of Position Music Orchestral Series Vol. 2.  Very, very good music on those albums.  You can listen to them here: http://www.positionmusic.com/orch2.php

Well, I just finished Rogue Intentions I.
Got a few FRED errors (notably the cargo-stealing mission), but it was fun.
I liked the Nav Buoy Game :P

Now that I've played all three campaigns, I can't wait to see how this will all come together.

*Grumble* That's 'climactic' out of you, sonny, or we're gonna have a tussle!

(Looks like adrenaline-loaded action from square one, otherwise. Neat!)

Well...it's in development. Story has needed tweaking...but a fair amount of that is done.

I would be surprised myself if I got it released this year though.
