I'm new to using FS2 Open and I'm experiencing a problem when I initially run FS2 Open from the launcher. After selecting Run, the initial SCP screen shot appears and then nothing. The system just hangs. The strange thing is if I hit the Enter key it will minimize FS2 Open to the Task bar. I begin to here music and if I then select the app from the task bar I see an Interplay video. If I hit Enter at this point it takes me to the screen to select my pilot. From there out everything works great.
The problem happens with any MOD I selected and also occurs with The Babylon Project.
I just installed everything using the Turey installer. I'm running the 3.6.9 executable.
Any suggestions on solving this? I can still use it as is but it's kind of annoying.
Beyond my problem I would like to compliment everyone involved with the SCP. I think the enhancement are awesome!! I always enjoyed space simulations and the SCP will allow me many enjoyable hours with the MOD's and other projects built around FS2 Open.

Update your video card drivers.
-
Turn on run in window in the dev tools section of the features. See if any popups show up. Could be a firewall issue.
-
Naw, cause remember it minimizes it when he presses enter, so he should see them.
-
Unless it's closing the firewall message when he hit's enter.
-
True. Do what the man says.
-
Also in a more weird turn, the video codecs could be working weirdly when opening the video... that can only be confirmed when he bumps into a cutscene though, so check for the firewall first.
-
If it is a firewall popup issue, manually adding the used build (fs2_open_3_6_9?) and possibly Launcher.exe would also do the trick.

I want to thank everyone for their help as I was able to get my problem resolved.
The solution was a little strange.
I started by updating my video driver. After getting them updated the problem still occurred but strangely enough now I was able to see the Firewall access prompt. Why updating the video drivers allowed me to see this form seem a little strange. That the joy of computer and software!!
The firewall block was a little strange also because I had already tried that prior to my post. What I found was that the path to the fs2_open_3_6_9.exe in the firewall exception list was using the 8 characters max path and filename with ~ instead of the full name. Once I changed that it worked like a charm.
Once again, thanks to everyone for the help. I wish I could get this good of support with other applications I work with!!!
