Title: how to verify that all files exist after a succesfull install using FSO?

stupid question I know & I also know its answered but just cant find where ..

I doubt few files are deleted thanks to mischief of my younger bro .. so how can I verify everything is okay now using FSO .. is that I hv to delete installer and temp folder in FS directory or I hv to do somthing else ..??

You should just be able to re-run the installer and it will download only the stuff that is changed or missing. 

There are also some pics in a few of the threads in the support forum on what should be in your directory.  Just take a quick look or I'm sure Lobo will be along with one.

Thanks for help FUBAR-BDHR; but..

when i did that FSO shows the next button in a flash (one that is seen after complete download) so i thought maybe it reads the txt and doesnt look for actual files

does that mean everything is intact; I want be sure as I 'em burning it to dvd as well

and could anyone pls tell me how to get mebia vps 3.6.10 beta  to work over FSO install as Bobboau's High Res Beam Textures r just awesome   !!

MediaVPs work like the MediaVPs. You place them to \freespace2\mediavps\ and use the Launcher to select the \mediavps\ folder as a mod.

If/when you already have the 3.6.8 MediaVPs, move them away from the \mediavps\ folder. Then, download the 3.6.10 MediaVPs from the release thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,51229.0.html) and place them to\mediavps\.

can you help me once more mate ..Lightspeed's nebulaes &  Bobboau's high res beam textures is all I am missing
 
u said to some1 that those nebulaes can be obtained from usefull stuff link in ur sig  .. i checked the "make your FS2 pretty"  link but I still couldnt find them.. can you pls tell me where can I find them

also I have the Bobboau's hi res beam textures from your same sig link (Bob.zip file) but I dont know how to install and make it work with FSO install (with mediavps 3.6.9 & fs open 3.6.9 final build) and not 3.6.10 beta

Yeah, I used to say that a lot. Then I found out that I was no match for FreeSpaceMods. So, Useful Stuff seized to exist. I should probably put the link back to my signature so that people would immediately find out about it, instead of asking numerous times.

Both Lightspeed's Nebulae and Bobboau's Beams are available at FreeSpaceMods.net (http://www.freespacemods.net/download.php?list.44). I'd recommend the smaller and less popular LS Nebulae pack, since it includes just vp files that you place to \freespace2\mediavps\. As for the Beams, I think I have to download them myself and see just what they hold inside. If they're not packed into a vp, you'll have to place them into specific subfolders under \freespace2\data\. Uno momento...

Edit:
- .tbm goes to \freespace2\mediavps\data\tables
- .fs2 goes to \freespace2\mediavps\data\missions
- the rest go to \freespace2\mediavps\data\effects

Unnecessary. I am always filled with joy, when a person is able to play or continue playing FreeSpace after encountering problems or issues.

i came here with just a expectation of only a good space sim but when i saw screnies in thread freespace celebration and on mods site i was blown away .. never thought a game said to best space sim in 1999 could be second best to none even now and all bcoz of peps in here who cant see FS being lost in dark .. worked on it to make it what they imagined

thats a very great quality ..

one little suggestion : enrich it in what you really wanna do and i believe you could do just anything ..

hope ..suggestion wasnt very absurd and silly ..
