I am considering purchasing use of a Microsoft Sharepoint server. Sharepoint is used by groups of people to collaborate on projects remotely; it allows for tasking items (IE, assign X model to X person, X conversion to X person, etc); easy tracking of goals/tasks, sharing of files (no limits) etc. Its a professional product. The project I work on at the US Department of Defense uses it, and I find that its a great tool.
Its expensive though - 100 dollars a month for an account with 50 users, and 5 GB of space. I can't justify that for a single mod, unless I can find it cheaper elsewhere. (I'm not willing to spend more than 30 bucks a month on it, myself)
So I'm wondering if a few of the mods might be intrested in going in with me on it. That kind of account could support 3-5 mods, easily.
If anyone's intrested, let me know.

A very well run forum and instant messengers would do all that.
Plus would that not be far cheaper?
If you need a humble example of what I am talking about you can see an example of how to set it up here:
