Is it possible to have both subspace and normal space in the same mission without obviously loading a new mission file??? I didn't notice any SCP sexps in the wiki pertaining to this.
-
Fake the subspace effects using "change skybox" and play sound/music file sexps? I think the subspace effect is some sort of skybox plus the sounds with a huge sun at the end?

Doesn't subspace have gravity effects as well? as well?
People could potentially make subspace transitions by just like, doing a fade to white, then teleporting the character wherever he needs to go with a fake subspace portal behind him. Lots of campaigns seem to think subspace is like hyperspace, and you actually jump out of some subspace tunnel just as you jump into it. That bugs the hell out of me personally. Because it's not.

Subspace has no gravity effects as far as I know. It's just a visual effect.
-
You think there's a gravity effect because the tunnel is swirling in a certain direction and moving back at the same time. Its actually identical to realspace. Well, your fighter handles the same (albiet without shields).
-
The shields are manually taken out anyway, so if you want to have shields in subspace you can (nobody will take you seriously...but it's still possible).

That reminds me of the SGWP2 subspace mission with shields...that was funny.
