Woot. More fame for use. But they only mentioned BTRL, no TBP, no BP, no JAD, no DEM, no SCP...

First!
They didn't have much room to say anything about other MODs and really Beyond the Red Line is the current premier MOD because of its superb visual appeal.  I was once at the helm of TBP and back then we were getting more than the occasional magazine mention because of what we had going....but now its BtRL...someone will come along and probably displace BtRL eventually.

Just wait until Shadows of Lylat puts something out and reels in the Nintendo peoples... :shaking:

"Hi, will you make a version for Wii?"
"Hey, is FreeSpace 3 going to be on Wii?"
"Why didn't you make the game with so little maneuvers! I can only go forward at different speeds, turn up, down, left, right or roll, but I can't even do a barrel roll now >:( I want my combos!"

That'll be the SWC, most likely.  :-)

From what I've seen yes that could very well happen!

SWC, WC, SOL, basically any other mod that puts another game into Freespace.

No, we're not talking about graphics. That's exactly the point.

You realize this is
in the top 100 games of ALL FRICKIN TIME ;D.

That includes PC and console games, everything from Pac-Man to Grand Theft Auto.

I think 76 is respectable.

And I think 95% of all games are crap, and that the vast majority of the games in front of Freespace 2 will either be said crap or token games.

I doubt Zelda, Mario, Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, C&C, Red Alert, HW 1&2 count as crap. Just to name a few of the many excellent and innovative games out there.

Dekker, think you could scan the whole article in ?

Warcraft counts as crap.. it's a starcraft clone with pretty graphics and heros in melee..

You realize that WarCraft was made way before StarCraft?

I was refering to WC III and WoW. No one honestly cares about the other two anymore

So you accuse WarCraft 3 of being a clone of StarCraft in spite of it being a logical sequel of WarCraft 2, and somehow compare a MMORPG with an RTS... Okay, that makes sense...

Considering that a 1999 game, upgraded by a corvette's crew of fans, is up against all the newer, modern stuff, 76 is a good position. There have been a lot of games released over the past nine years (I think). :nervous:

You mean Starcraft 2, and Diablo 3?

To be honest, as long as Koreans exist, there WILL be people who care about StarCraft. Go pop into the SC B.Net servers. Its still full as it was during SC's heyday. And D2's B.Net servers are equally full. To this day there are still people who play WC2 even.

And WC3 is a good game. It has a respectable storyline (revolving Illidan by the way, Arthas's one is too Anakin for me), and the graphics, for its time, were excellent. It was also one of the first major games to introduce the 'Hero' mechanic into a game.

WoW is also an excellent game. Its graphics are amazing, even now. The gameplay has gone through multiple re-balances ever since its first inception, and Blizzard has proved itself committed to fixing issues that arise with it. WoW is also the most popular MMORPG. Its Guiness record can prove that. And, iirc, my multiplayer games lecturer commended WoW for proving that real-time networking was possible, instead of using periodical packet transmission.

I take it you never played it.

This has turned into a general gaming discussion, so I've moved it over here.

As for WoW, I don't know about the game itself as I have no interest in MMOs, but the only way anyone could think those graphics are still "amazing" is if they haven't played anything from the last four years. :p Even FS2 looks miles better these days.

Actually I have. And still do from time to time.

Yesterday, I saw my classmate playing StarCraft in class. She was still playing it when lessons ended.

If you ask me, I'll stick to The Battle for Wesnoth.

In general, I do not like modern games. The newest commercial game I have (i.e. that I paid for) is RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, and I prefer RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 to that.
