Is there a way (I assumed it required a SCP feature) to change how far away a ship is "viewable" in a nebula? I've found using the set nebula sexp and turning off all the poofs allows for a very dense "fog" atmosphere, however ships still only become visible at short distances. I'd like to be able to see large ships from a larger distance; is there a way to adjust this already? I can't find a sexp or a table option to do this, although "nebula view distance" has such a nice ring to it I'm surprised I didn't find a thread while searching...

Only one nebula mission in my campaign, so altering a few ships won't break compatibility with the rest of the my small mod. That'll work just fine.
Can't believe I didn't see it. I wasn't expecting it to be in that table, thanks.:)

Any possibility of making view distances and other nebula range options FRED-definable rather than table-definable? That way a campaign can have some nebulae be thinner than others.

On top of that, the use of sexps to alter nebular density, visibility, and scanning ranges in mission, could be coupled with variables and distance checks to create variable density nebulae. This means you could have an enemy fleet hiding inside a nebular region. Couple that with the existing sexps which turn nebulae on and off and you have the ability to create nebulae you can exit, without any abrupt boundary. Would also work well for planetary atmospheres.
